My sitter has just cancelled. How do I contact membership services to report to see if I have insurance re this.
I think my listing has been re listed. Sitter who was sitting is moving house around the dates in July 9th -12th. So we are now left with 2 weeks to get a sitter or loose all our money for our holiday.
I’d like to talk to someone in membership services for advice.
You sit is in July so doesn’t qualify for the sit cancellation plan ( which only applies for last minute cancellations 14 days or less before the sit )
I checked the link in your profile - I can confirm it’s been relisted -
Hopefully another sitter will apply soon . All the best .
Your listing starts July 9 which is 4 weeks from now. Do you have another set of dates that actually starts in 2 weeks? This will affect replies to your call for help.
This is the forum not membership services. I am just another member. You can look on your dashboard or the website for how to contact membership services.
In this brave new world, I don’t know if you are automatically relisted. If you are, that’s a very new thing. You are not eligible for any kind of refund as even if you have premium, you can only get a refund if the sit is cancelled by the other party within 2 weeks of the start date.
So the first thing you should do is go to your dashboard. Repost your listing. I would do this by deleting it altogether and then reposting so it appears as new. This also will free you up for new applicants as otherwise you’d have to back through old applications and decline or choose even though some of those sitters will have moved on. You can contact other suitable applicants you might have declined in favor of the person you picked to see if they are still interested. You can only have up to 5 open applications at a time so make sure to decline and then unpause under manage to get as many applicants as you can. If anyone expesses an interest try to talk to them ASAP.
I understand your concern about cancelling your trip but it sounds like you have two weeks, so if there is any interest, that’s plenty of time to find someone else or make another plan.
In 2 weeks I will loose all the money on my holiday if I’m not able to go. Even though sit is in July, I on,y have 2 weeks to find another Housesitters or I get zero back from Ho,I day, even though I have insurance. Loss of dog sitter doesn’t count
Sorry to hear about sit cancellation. Response and weblink from @Newpetlover answers question.
Hopefully you have plenty time to secure a replacement sitter. In case not familiar, there is a ‘last minute sits’ area of THS Forum that can help promote listings within 10 days of start date. Though hopefully you secure a new housesitter sooner. Good luck.
Anne, I think perhaps the length of your sit might be an issue. Lots of sitters won’t take a short sit any more if they are paying a booking fee. But it could be a great gap filler for someone. I can see what you are saying about cancelling your trip, for such a short time is there not a neighbour or friend that could help out if you didn’t get a sitter?
You might consider replacing some of your pictures with more of your home. I didn’t see any kitchen or bathroom pics. The sleeping options are tight for a couple with a double bed or single bed. If you’re open to letting sitters use your bed, you can mention that one too and give sitters the choice. There are many pics not of you home, it’s confusing in my opinion.
isn’t there a hire a paid sitter or boarding option rather than losing all your holiday money?
