I apologize for not replying sooner. It reminds me of some socks I have. They say,

ā€œIf a man says he will fix it, thereā€™s no need to remind him EVERY 6 MONTHS.ā€

I did enjoy ā€œThe Housesitterā€™s Guide to the Galaxy.ā€ It was so different from my own life. And still practical. And I loved all your personal stories.

However, I technically canā€™t review the book on Amazon, even though I bought it there with a gift certificate. I normally boycott Amazon, and their system wonā€™t let me review your book. (ā€œYou must have spent $50 on Amazon.com, using a credit or debit card, in the past 12 months.ā€) All that to encourage others who can review your book on Amazon to still do so, in my stead. :grin:

Also, I did have some questions I never got to ask. <checks notes from 6 months ago> Iā€™ll limit it to 3 :grin::

  1. The book is ā€œfor Derek who always encouraged fun and adventure.ā€ Who is that?
  2. In Chapter 8 (High Steaks), you tell a story about rescuing a calf from water. What happened to the calf? I couldnā€™t tell how long he survived.
  3. What would you add/change to the book now? (feel free to be succinct/long)

Love your questions and curiosity.

  1. Derek is my Father-in-Law who passed away the year my book was published, and he was such an inspiration for Tom and I in our travels and adventures, so it felt fitting to dedicate the book to him.
  2. A keen eye for detail - we never found out what happened to the calf and we actually never got the steaks from the farmer either :sweat_smile: Tom was bitterly disappointed about that!
  3. I would add a LOT to the book now, with 2 more years of full time housesitting under my belt. Letā€™s just say that I wonā€™t outline it here, in case a new edition comes out :eyes:

As always for those boycotting Amazon I would recommend reviewing books on Good Reads if you can. Reviews help authors ever so much! -
