That is exactly what I mean, thanks for illustrating my point. ChatGTP won’t say that whatever opinion you have is ridiculous.
Another thing about ChatGPT. I am in a get together group in my area for 6 of us who travel in non traditional ways. Including THS, home exchange, etc. one person in our group was telling us at our last in person get together that they belong to a forum with other travelers using the same method they travel which is home exchange. They were traveling somewhere and had a chance to meetup with one person on the forum. She thought this person was very intelligent and liked what she posted. They met in person and this person could not form two sentences together. She said it was a very long coffee meetup. She then asked her if she used ChatGPT to post. Her reply was sometimes. My friend thought she should have replied, all the time. I personally like getting to know REAL personalities on here when people post using their own brain.
It’s not their opinion, it’s Chat’s Opinion. They are just using cut and paste.
I think you may have missed @andrealovesanimals point here.
Being an absolute obsessive I have read and enormous amount on the forum. It has taught me heaps. Boy I was so green when I started and lots of luck meant my sits have all been great. Now that I have all the forum expertise behind me I am super picky about what I would apply for. I really enjoy reading about others experiences that are different to mine. I don’t like the occasional over moderation. It can make the discussion boring and lack luster.
I agree whole heartedly with your last point, the moderation can at times become over zealous and more like censorship.
The occasions when I’ve used ChatGPT, I used it to craft what I wanted to say. The results were definitely not a ChatGPT opinion. I find AI the opposite of opinionated.
Also, I very much doubt that you or I can distinguish AI generated content from human product. Humans think they can but even English professors are struggling with the issue. If you can tell something was generated by AI, the AI user is inept. Using AI effectively is becoming a new life and vocation skill required of younger workers and students.
The long dashes & bolded areas in the text are a dead give away for ChatGPT/AI crafted text. Then there’s the phrasing style, it’s very easy to pick that it’s ChatGPT when it’s a straight copy & paste.
But you posted it on the public forum, didn’t you?
As I said, professors struggle. In one notable study (‘Game of Tones’), faculty reviewed AI and human essays and scored them almost the same, showing they couldn’t actually distinguish between them. That study was from 2023. 2023 is light years ago in the world of AI. If professors struggled then, it’s a serious blind spot for any of us to think we’re better today.
Since my posts are subject to moderation, I expected it to be deleted before hitting the boards.
It’s true that threads are still useful and active even if app never comes back. But I think it’s common courtesy to thank or at least acknowledge contributions and I agree that when
it’s a bit frustrating and doesn’t make much sense.
Thanks for asking!
This is not common at all. You may want to revise the content of your posts and see why they require more moderation than usual.
may serve this purpose.
As far as I know none of my posts have broken any rules. One or two was moderated for content, others deleted with no notice or explanation. I see nothing in the rules that says moderators can moderate a users posts indefinitely with no good reason. Some of my posts are cleared within minutes others sit for 12 hours or more at which point often the post itself is meaningless.
So what’s the reason do you think, are you posts being moderated arbitrarily? I’ve had posts deleted (there are things you can’t even allude to) and when one topic became especially heated (sit fees) I was admonished. But, I don’t remember ever having posts held for moderation.
Although I have theories, your post moderation is best discussed with the moderators themselves @Henry_R
I don’t have a clue.
I would ask them the reason why and how long it will go on for.
It seems unreasonable to complain to us about being unjustly moderated if you haven’t even attempted to seek clarification from the moderators themselves.
