“That rarest phenomenon: a war novel that feels at once timeless and precisely of the moment…” —Washington Post
A poignant coming-of-age story with the sensitivity and haunting power of What Belongs to You and Swimming in the Dark, about a young boy wrestling with his sexuality as war breaks out in modern Ukraine.
Which of these days are you available to meet and discuss? (We’ll meet at the usual time - 10AM PDT, 11AM MDT, 12noon CDT, 1PM EDT, 6PM GMT, 7PM CET, 8PM EET.)
Tuesday 7th July
Tuesday 14th July
Wednesday 15th July
Thursday 16th July
Please post your preference.
Thank you!
Based on your feedback, I’ll choose the meeting date.
After your responses, we’ll go with Tuesday 14th July for this book club meet
It will be at the usual time - 10AM PDT, 11AM MDT, 12noon CDT, 1PM EDT, 6PM GMT, 7PM CET, 8PM EET.
The book ‘The Sunflower Boys by Sam Watchman’ is available on all the usual channels: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, and so on.
Very much looking forward to this one. Please join us for the discussion and socialising - even if you never have before! The discussion is online
If you will be joining us, please send me your email address via private direct message so I can send you the meeting invite. For those that joined last months’ meet for The Lion Women of Tehran, I’ve got your email addresses and will automatically invite you
I know, I checked prices in different countries, in Spain, it’s even more expensive: 23.50€. I’ve got the audio book, much cheaper but I fall sleep after a few minutes.
Next week I’ll be driving to a sit in Portugal so I’ll have plenty of time to listen to it.
Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the book.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to host or attend the book club on Tuesday 14th July anymore as I have been invited to London for my naturalisation ceremony (I’ve been in the process of getting German citizenship for 2 years and it’s finally happened ). Sod’s law it’s taking place in London on the 14th of July.
I wondered if we can rearrange to one of the aforementioned dates:
Tuesday 7th July
Wednesday 15th July
Thursday 16th July
If we can’t rearrange, I wondered if anyone else would be up for hosting this time?
I may be traveling on the 7th…not finalized yet, but the other dates are free for sure. As always, please do as best for the majority & I’ll see if I can fit.
