Interesting article from NY Times about research on puppy training - actually ran in Sept but appeared online again today.

Love this kicker quote. It says exactly how I feel about sitting so many different pets and how I feel about my rescue dog:
And I think that’s one of the really important things: Love your dog for who they are. They’re all going to be different. But who they are is a wonderful thing.
Thanks for sharing. I have really enjoyed the article. I just love to keep learning about animal learning and communication.
Not sure if the article mentions it, but these two and their research are a big part of the Netflix show “Inside the Mind of a Dog”. I highly recommend it if you haven’t seen it. The service group Canine Companions for Independence is highlighted in the movie. I have raised two dogs for them and it is such a highlight of my and my children’s lives, having had those dogs in our lives. Here’s a picture of my son when he was 5 (he’s turning 29 today) with the first dog we raised for Canine Companions. He went on to assist a young man with cerebral palsy.
@sledgejoyce i was thinking about the same show when I read this.
