Treat Poultry like cats or dogs in listings

Hello THS product people,

Just wanted to say that people with multiple cats and dogs can enter individual pets with their names and photos. I posted my pets as Poultry in my profile and put names on their photos, but my listing just shows “Poultry” with one photo of one chicken. Equal opportunity for chickens, please!

I would love if you could change the programming for Poultry to be the same as for Cats and Dogs… individual pages with photos and names for each one. My chix are quite different and may need different care or attention.

Also, soooo many marketing emails refer to “our furry friends” and I just have to say that not all pets are “furry”. We do have pet categories of reptiles, fish, horses, birds, and poultry, so let’s keep the language inclusive, LOL!

I second this! For us it’s because we have sheep and ducks, which scares some sitters off, but we only have two sheep and three ducks. They are adorable and their needs are minimal, much less than the cat.

I’ve had two sits so far with alpacas, the first in New Zealand with 23 alpacas the second in the UK with 7. While all the NZ alpacas had names, I couldn’t remember them all. The UK ones were easy to remember. Not sure it would be a good idea to provide photos of all 23 alpacas with their names :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m only asking for the opportunity to name my pets, not making it required for a whole herd or flock. Seems it could at least be an option. I do pay the same fees as everyone else, and actually pay as a sitter as well. Equal opportunity for all pet owners would be welcome.

What I do is add photos of sheep and poultry with their names in the captions. I’m afraid if THS set up poultry like dogs and cats you’d have to put three photos of each chicken, which could make listings crazy. I agree though, it would be nice to have more options.

As someone who frequently does sits with poultry I agree. they definitely do have different personalities. I had one who laid her eggs every other day in the cats bed on top of washing machine in porch. She was comical. One who laid eggs high up on a 6ft cabinet in an outhouse, Another, in a different house, who was broody, and I had to coax her off the nest, In all 3 cases I would have liked to know their names when talking to them. I was, of course, joking and agree with you

I’ve done that for my chickens, added photos with captions, but the Sitter view of the listing doesn’t see them, at least as far as I can tell.

If I remember right, captions are visible on the website but not the app, or vice versa. It’s not ideal.
