Trust Pilot and THS

So much chatter on the forum and both FB pages with THS members…it prompted me to check out the Trust Pilot ratings…here is what I found:

I have been watching Trust Pilot reviews for THS since yesterday morning (Dec 10).

When I opened it first thing the rating was 4.4. By late in the afternoon it had dropped to 4.0 and now (Dec 11) it is 3.8.

Got to wonder if anyone “up there” cares about that or not….

I’m pretty sure they don’t.
There will no doubt be a lot of people looking for alternative platforms and leave bad reviews out of anger and disappointment, but once all this blows over, I fear that THS will be going up in the ranks soom enough again.

I think the main damage will be done in petsitting and travel forums. Before, most sitters and owners recommended THS as THE petsitting platform. I think there will be a lot less of that now.
We have been petsitting full-time for 5 years, mainly through THS, but will now no longer recommend the platform to whoever is curious about our lifestyle and would like to give petsitting a try.

I did my duty there, made a review and also did «the round» marking other posts «useful»/ thumbs up. Thanks for the reminder, I’ll go back and support newer messages that I agree with…

THS is the number one sitting site on the planet and even if it drops a few points because of a blip of bad reviews due to an unfavorable fee and policy change, it’s still going to be the number one pet sitting site and it may very well climb back up again in the ratings as more positive reviews are sent their way.

It’s nothing to be afraid of.

@idocsteve That’s what Nokia used to think….

I guess my hope is that the “powers that be” would take notice and give more value to their members concerns and feedback.

We are premium members so we are not affected in this way but I do think it’s a lousy way to go about further monetizing the platform, especially when there are so many repeated issues and requests that members have voiced for a while now to no avail.

Now that Jenny has closed the last thread on booking fees a new one needs to be started. Do you feel up to this. You are very much respected on this site x

Hi @Sarah22 , thank you. I just checked and I think the thread us still open? ( although I am currently in a cafe with poor internet so I may be wrong!)

@carpediem16, THS Board/Executive would surely take notice if KPIs - #members, $revenues, #complaints - deteriorate significantly; if THS Management challenges in a vocal manner; and/or if operational challenges emerge (e.g. material imbalance in #homeowners vs #housesitters). As volunteers, such matters are beyond our pay grade but guess see how unfolds.

No. The new thread started by @Jenny is where the discussion about the booking fee will continue. There is no need for any member to start yet another one.

Are you a THS mole or something lol

Yes. I’m something.

My review got deleted because THS said it wasn’t valid.

Typical misinformation being spread by a Trustpilot reviewer:

I did 21 sits last year, this new model would now charge an additional $714 to be shared amongst the sitter and the host.

The upgrade to Premium for both host and sitter would be a third of that number and allow for unlimited sits with no booking fees. Along with perks including a pair of lounge passes which are worth about 80 euro.

This misconception or some variation of it is posted frequently. Either people are clueless and so eager to jump on the bandwagon to feel like they’re a part of something or they’re intentionally being spiteful by spreading lies.

The TP rating for THS started at 4.4-Excellent and now is down to 3.7-Average, and dropping. There was a response to one ratee, but it was the same corporate gobblygook word salad of condescension that we’ve seen before. It says something, but means nothing. They need to have real human one on one discussion as and stop hiding behind moderators and prepared statements. Authenticity is is short supply at THS.

Wasn´t it 4.7?

I really hope so! I’d be happy to have made this error.

They’ll just get most of them removed like they did with the post-five-application-limit negative reviews.

They contest all the negative reviews and count on the people leaving them not to respond to Trust Pilot’s request for personal information. Reviewer doesn’t respond, Trust Pilot yanks the review, problem solved.

Look at their stats for the last 12 months. The removed reviews were taken down because the reviewers didn’t respond. It will be interesting to watch that number (currently only at five) increase substantially in the next little while as they continue to flag all the reviews from the last few days.
