Unresponsive confirmed sitter

Thanks everyone this is really helpful - I’ll keep trying her for another week I think, then I’ll ask THS to help reach her.

If I were you, I wouldn’t wait another week before asking THS to help, two weeks before the sit starting is a very short time!

@LauraLeeds Personally I think leaving it another week to contact THS support is not a good idea . It may take them a few days to get a reply from the sitter.

If your worst fears are true and the sitter is not coming , that only leaves you only a week or less to find another sitter - which is not impossible but very difficult and stressful.

I suggest that it’s best to get member services involved asap- then you will either get confirmation that the sitter is coming - which will put your mind at rest or if they are not coming it gives you a bit more time ( not much ) to find a replacement sitter .

I agree, LL, unless you are in an extremely high-desirability area, I wouldn’t wait a week to reach out to support.

I would guess that support is not going to do anything because (as I understand it) these dates are not in the system.

Edit: Ah, that “confirmed a sitter via private dates” was someone else.

@pietkuip are you commenting on @LauraLeeds situation or another one ?
I thought this was a confirmed sit ?

I asked for those details in may and shared mine, but haven’t heard back yet. As it was a long way until September at that point I didn’t chase until a few weeks ago.

Yes they confirmed back in May but not heard anything since. My last and only sitters so far were really practice and messages / zoomed a lot before they came to stay. It could be that they are out of internet range but it feels like we’re getting quite close to the deadline with no contact.

In the THS messaging system you can see if your messages were read.

You should also be able to see the availability calendar of this sitter, and see if they are (or: should be) house sitting now.

In the app, you could see if they sent reviews of their latest sits.

And you might be able to find their social media, if there is any activity.

@LauraLeeds what was the outcome . Did the sitter get in touch ? Did the sit go ahead ?
