Thank you for sharing this. The WSJ paywall is the worst!

My spouse and have a long term trip coming up in a month and are already planning our very early airport arrival! The (repeat) sitter is local!

Definitely advise folks to check with their airport ahead of time. I checked SeaTac last night and so far they seem to still be rolling along at normal processing times, at least…people reporting just 10-minute waits atm. I know they recently installed the automated face scanners, as well as moved & expanded the TSA Precheck lanes to a larger space, so maybe that’s why.

Good luck all, fingers crossed for all those traveling rn. :crossed_fingers:

I read Houston and Miami airports are bad now. I hope the government shutdown gets resolved because I’m flying through Houston next month. Coming from Mexico, layover in Houston and the TSA is no different than the regular security line. It’s always long.

At the risk of getting dragged for this by some: I just got sent a code for gifting up to 5 people 3 months each of free Clear access. (I don’t receive anything if people use it, it’s just an offer they send me a couple times per year. Normal disclaimers: new members only, they’ll want to take your CC at signup & you’ll need to cancel at 3mo to avoid being billed etc.)

In any case, if anyone is interested feel free to DM me and I’ll give you the link and the offer code so you can look it over & decide if it’s something that might work for you. I’ve checked, and while TSA have temporarily suspended Global Entry lines, so far Clear is still operating as normal.

Just offering in case it might help save someone missing a flight or connection if you’re going through one of the airports reporting super-long delays.
