When looking at Sitters and Reviews, I (as a sitter) just discovered that you can read all the information about other sitters (by clicking on a sitter at the top).
What about privacy + I don’t want other sitters to read my profile.
Please report this.

What bothers you about it? Is it other people seeing your reviews? What’s the difference between a host seeing your profile or a sitter?
I am a sitter and find the ability to read the reviews of other sitters very useful.
The forum moderators will not deal with your concern - you need to contact support@trustedhousesitters.com.
I only have sits but it is about my PRIVACY , sitters need to see my profile to decide but other sitter don’t. I’m feeling very uncomfortable about this.
Thank you , I’m feeling very uncomfortable about this. I will contact THS.
Anybody who creates a temporary account, before paying to join, can see your profile
It’s invaluable to have access to sitters reviews. I’ve bypassed sits or confirmed sits based on other sitters feedback and reviews hosts have let for them. The whole system wouldn’t work if you took that ability away. Several people have dual memberships as hosts and sitters, so they’d still have access too. As for privacy, what specifically are you referring to? What part of your profile do you feel needs to be kept more private?
I don’t have a temporarily account.
And the sitter whose information that I can read has also not a temporarily account.
I DON’T FEEL COMFORTABLE, IT IS ABOUT MY PRIVACY.
What if my neighbors or former friends are also on THS ???
I DON’T WANT THEM TO READ MY INFO OR SEE MY FOTOS !!!
Has it always been like that ???
Because I touched the screen accidentally and so just found out NOW
Why don’t you want former friends or neighbours to read your info on your profile.?
Complete strangers - hosts can read it so what’s the difference?
What I meant was anyone/everyone sitter, homeowner, or not even paid up THS member can see your profile if they want to.
THS would probably find it very difficult to get new HO members if they were unable to see potential sitters.
I can’t see this changing, and I’m not sure most people would want it to.
As a member I can look at profiles of both sitters and homeowners. Also shocking as this may be, people with free accounts can also look at profiles. This is just the way it is. If you aren’t actively looking for a sit, you could always minimize the information on the profile if this bothers you, but I doubt THS is going to do anything to change this since seeing sitters and seeing homes attract new members.
I don’t care hosts or administration of THS reading my profile (is part of the deal and can be useful)but other people just don’t need to read and see things about me.
It can be that YOU are comfortable with that.
Other people can have an other opinion.
I’ll stop this discussion .
I just didn’t know that that was possible (just find out by accident ).
Good luck everyone !!!
Sarah
@Flor3jaar when you joined up with THS - you agreed to the T&CS (including the privacy policy ) and this gives THS your permission to publicly display the information you provide in your profile .
11.4. You hereby grant us an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, royalty-free worldwide licence to use, copy, perform, publicly display, reproduce, adapt, modify, transmit, broadcast, prepare derivative works of, and/or distribute Member Content in connection with providing and/or promoting the Platform and the Services .
To use THS you have to agree to their privacy policy
If you want to opt out of THS there is an e-mail in the above link where you can request that THS stop publishing / using your information . This would also mean that you would no longer be able to use THS services .
Also you have put your name in your posts about privacy. I am not sure if you realise that anyone ( not just paid up THS members ) can join this forum, read your posts and will see your name .
It has always been like that. The general public can also see homeowner and pet sitter profiles and reviews. They don’t need to be a paid up THS member.
If you don’t want to be ‘found’ you can change your location. I think others can only search for sitters by location, and then only first names show, so you may be able to ‘trick’ them by putting a different location, if you are really worried about friends/colleagues finding you. But they really have to want to find you… I find it so hard to look for a particular sitter, unless I click on your profile from a review, for example.
While you’re entitled to your preferences, it would be impractical business wise and technically for THS to do what you want. That’s because there’s no way to determine whether someone is a potential customer or a friend or family member of X. There’s also nothing stopping your friends or family from creating accounts as members.
So you can choose to limit or remove your info on your own, manually. And of course, you can quit THS and maybe join a Facebook group or such where you individually solicit hosts for sits and share your info one-on-one.
Everything is part of the deal we signed up, as @Silversitters, has proven.
Under GDPR, CCPA, and similar data protection laws and regulations, companies—including THS—must obtain explicit consent and signature to use personal data, including profiles and pictures, especially for marketing purposes.
If your profile is accessible to people outside the platform, this issue needs to be addressed immediately.
