What are you grateful for today?

Today I’m grateful that my Dad is keeping in good health despite his cancer diagnosis, and that his prognosis was as good as it could be.

I’m also grateful to be living in such a beautiful part of the world, and that I’m getting out and about a lot more than I have previously!

Grateful that this guy who gave us a big scare last week seems to be fine. Grateful that the big scare led to a medication change for a long standing issue and the new med appears to be working. Grateful that I managed to find a sitter for November despite the uncertainty that hit a day after I posted the sit!

Grateful to have sat yet another sweet doggo and then come home to my own beloved pooch (and husband ). Also grateful that I can do sits and not worry about my dog, because my homebody husband takes great care of him.

Grateful that we’re able to board our special-needs rescue dog with someone we trust.

She met our dog well before we did, while working at the shelter where we eventually discovered him. She helped take care of him then and knows him well. He sat there a long time, unwanted after his first adoptive family returned him.

When we went away for the first time without him years ago, we wanted to leave him with someone familiar, so we asked at the animal shelter for someone able to board him. (We never leave him with anyone unfamiliar.)

Our dog boarder’s then-fiancé — now her husband — is a police officer with work hours opposite hers. That means our dog gets more human attention than otherwise. And since they first sat him, they’ve now moved to a rural area, where he has much more room to roam.

It costs a lot, but it’s worth our peace of mind and great care for him.

I felt like we all deserve to take a moment and find our “glimmer” for the day…

I’m grateful for the lovely sunshine that we’ve had for the past few day, and that my Dad brought me a bird feeder just in time for it, so I’ve had a few days of watching all kind of new friends snacking on seeds and dried mealworms!
