Good points. a better method of finding sits by dates is needed in my view.

I wish when we did a search it would automatically filter out dates we already have a confirmed sit to make our search for additional sits cleaner and more efficient.

a uservoice site for THS would be great. we could all upvote the changes that are most important for each of us.
things i am looking for:
ability to set the search radius around a given location
ability to filter by number of pets (cats specifically, iāll do 3, but certainly not 12)
ability to filter by start date only, or end date only
ability to exclude sits not accessible by public transport and where use of the pet parents car is not available (ie exclude sits that require a car)
ability to block certain pet parents forever and never see their listing or receive notifications
ability to initiate a videocall from the conversation directly, why do i have to keep switching to whatsapp or zoom?
ability to apply for sits with overlapping dates if the pet parent has specifically said their dates are flexible
ability to be notified when favorite listings add dates, but only certain periods of the year (for example winter ski season in the mountains, or Tulum outside of the horrid humid rainy season etc)
also, professional software dev here with 20 yrs exp, looking for clients, let me do it!!

Sitters who are looking to work with homes in the future for stays in certain areas for specific durations or timeframes!
I would really like to have 2FA functionality added to the site.
Iāve had multiple attempts to hack my accounts on various other sites foiled by my 2fa security.
There is so much at stake if someone else could access your THS account. Not having 2FA really does heighten the risk.

The ability to hide sits from search results would be ideal to reduce the amount of time spent looking at the same sits.
We housesit full-time in the same location and would be interested in being able to hide certain HOs that we know would not be a good fit, but I think this would likely be harder on the technology side - even being able to just filtering their individual postings one at a time would make a big difference!

I would like THS to revise and update prompts and make sure everyone gets them. They seem to work randomly.
Some examples:
- I donāt think thereās any need to wash pets beds before and after a 3 day sitting. Still, both sitters and owners are encouraged to that regardless of the duration, the type of beds etc.
- There seems to be no prompt to encourage HOs to update their listings when they publish new dates. A reminder regarding number of pets, references to past dates or conditions, important changes in habits, pet ageā¦ would be really helpful.
- The amenities section have changed but many HOs donāt seem to be aware and only have the wi-fi info.
- I think everyone HOs and sitters should be advised to avoid breaking T&Cs. I am thinking of canceling or leaving a sit other than for emergency reasons, non disclosure of pet difficult behavior or additional tasks requested after the sitting being agreed uponā¦
There are quite a few examples and I am sure others will contribute to complete this list.

I notice in the drop down menu searching for sits there are categories for all North America, all South America, etc., etc., but NO drop down for Central America, which would be really useful too.
Any chance of adding that feature to the search drop down menu?

I have read these same requests for years. Why does it take so long and why do some updates never happen? It was posted in a past Newsletter that HOs would not be able to request a sitter that is already booked and it has not been implemented yet. Why prevent a sitter from applying and not a HO from requesting?

I would really love to have the possibility as homeowner to indicate until when sitters need to be here on departure day.
I often have sitters apply only then to find out they canāt make it until for example noon when i have to leave for the airport.
So an additional field under here would be great so people donāt apply in the first place who canāt make it

In the meantime you can add it to your listing so that sitters who are considering applying know.

I insist that it is important to revise and update reminders and prompts and to make sure everyone gets them in a timely manner.
There have been lots of discussions and issues regarding cameras. A new thread has just emerged.
Owners should get a reminder before the sit starts that they must switch off internal cameras and recording devices and show sitters where external cameras are.
Those devices are easily added after the first listing and itās easy for owners to forget about them.

Iām wondering if anyone has thought about or might find useful the ability to post flexible dates for a sit? If I retire as expected in 2025, I might be open to last-minute travel or adapting my schedule to secure a favorite sitter. I believe as the system currently exists, the only thing I can do is post dates and then, of course, move them a day or two as a sitter might find necessary. I would love to say something like āany three week period between early February until the end of March,ā for example. Posting only hard and fast dates might lose a homeowner a great sitter who would otherwise have a flexible schedule and be welcome. Thoughts?

I would love to see a feature that shows you have already viewed a sit. It would save endless time scrolling over sits you have already seen and rejected as they are not a good fit forus.

This thread is ridiculously long. Is it just to make us feel good venting what we wish THS would add to the site bc do we REALLY think anyone is going to read these hundreds of posts and do anything about them?
Someone tried starting a new one about adding the feature of being able to āhideā listings we have no interest in (as sitters) that we have already viewed and donāt want to keep seeingā¦a comment often voiced on here and right away it was moved here to get lost in this absurdly long thread.
Whatās the point of asking the question - is anyone with the ability to do something about these requests actually reading them all?

Well, thank you @Maeve for responding - am glad to know many are read and passed along. Since we donāt seem to get any replies regarding some of these repeated suggestions, it seems they fall on deaf ears. I hope Iām wrong.
