What have you bought after a sit?

We were forced to use an airfryer on a sit in Malaysia where there was no oven. We did not get on with it at all- we obviously didn’t get the Knack! Since then we never touch the airfryer- & there’s usually one on every sit nowadays!

Steam mop and cleaner.

Something I haven’t bought as they are too expensive, but I long for actual linen bed linen now. 2 of my regular sits have this and oh my! Wonderful to sleep in.

If a host wanted me to vacuum every day, I would say sorry, this sit is not for me! I don’t think I know a single person who vacuums every day! You were a very good sport.

I don’t get the appeal. I’m on a sit right now with a fancy counter appliance that has settings for baking, roasting, cookies, pizza, broiling, reheating and probably a few other functions I’m forgetting. I have used it for broiling and warming up things but it’s so complicated I haven’t figured out quite how to get the timing and on/off buttons to work properly. So I have to keep messing with it and babysitting it so as not to burn my food😜. At home, I have a regular stove/oven and toaster oven, which is plenty for me. It works well and is easy to use. I’ve never even owned a microwave and get by just fine!

Novelty sheep toilet roll holders!

@Treeandcathugger I agree. Simple is good! Give me a toaster, a kettle and a standard oven and hob and I’m happy! I also love if there is a salad spinner and a blender of some kind. That’s enough. I never use the complicated high tech coffee machines, milk frothers, or other fancy gadgets. Our stove-top Italian style expresso pot (moka pot) goes around the world with us! Makes the best coffee ever!

Re-vacuuming. If there had been a lightweight cordless Dyson stick type thing I’d have had no problem vacuuming every day as there was indeed a lot of cat hair (2 cats) It was the dinosaur of a vacuum cleaner she had that was the problem!!

The HO did not actually demand us to vacuum daily- she just said it was what she herself did. I really couldn’t understand why she had such a heavy duty machine! Maybe it was to get her daily workout!

What is an “Echo Show”?

I really liked two items, bought none - for now.
I will definitely get the kettle with temperature control once I settle down. The second item, an instant hot water dispenser system, is something I might also purchase - or maybe not.

Well I expect a full report on your final decision. I hate being left hanging like this.

Portable speaker

I also purchased a lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner!

A milk frother.

A waist lead - I much prefer to have both hands free when walking dogs, a d it us so much more practical for the ones who pull.

I think my next housesit inspired purchase may be a spray mop.

This Brabantia fold out clothesline changed my life for apartment living
