nobody is ‘pouncing’ on you - Infact my comment was entirely general based on the feeling reading through the thread.
The thread is literally asking about nomadic sitters and there is clearly misinformation and incorrect assumptions being made (such as we are untraceable)
Many people who are in a position to offer clarity on the POV are pitching in to offer.
It’s not about being defensive - they are just explaining their situation to add to the discussion which is fair.
You are free to choose who you want as it makes sense to you.
It’s funny to see that this is a site for housesitters so I find it odd that people wouldn’t have come across full-time sitters before who therefore will be ‘nomadic’ how else will they maintain a home if they petsit full time? What would be the point?

I’ve kind of given up trying to explain the lifestyle to people who are closed minded.
We literally move through paradise and get to take care of beautiful pets and meet wonderful people. Each morning I’m watching parrots and monkeys swing past whilst brushing the quirky cat I’m sitting and sipping fresh coffee. I learn new language and get to immerse myself in new culture and make new friends across the globe who also live interesting and unusual lifestyles beyond the norm.

I’m happy for you!
The more I explore alternative lifestyles — like people who are nomads and/or with RVs or tiny homes — the more excited I am about the possibilities. I’m in my 50s and expect that we’ll downsize within the next decade. I keep telling my husband that nothing is guaranteed health wise or such, so we should get more mobile while it’s an option.

“How to get comfortable with opening your home to somebody who is”
I’m not a HO or nomadic but I would say know the squatter laws, your insurance, and know if sitters appling are nomadic vs homeless. Then determine your comfort level & risk tolerance when choosing.
