I am on a sit near Dublin with the unfriendliest cats in all my time sitting.

Nice area though

Sounds like my old cats🤣 now that I’ve sat for some extremely affectionate cats I know what I was missing all the time🤷

Taking my annual year-end break from sitting.

The U.S. Pacific Northwest is getting loads of rain, so our waterfalls are pounding.

New waterfalls also have formed where there aren’t normally any. We can see some from the freeway, for example. Beautiful.

We’re on a new sit in Hong Kong :hong_kong_sar_china: for brand new hosts. Lovely animals, incredible home & super nice people with sensible expectations. Two dogs, a cat & a gecko near Clearwater Bay :raising_hands:t3: #nowweretalking

It’s an amazing place (as you know very well), my best friend from school is HKBC so we spent a lot of our 20s here travelling & as a bridesmaid for her. The sit is 3.5 weeks plus a bit of time in Central so very lucky for sure. There were regular arguments on whether marmite on toast (for her) or peking duck (for me) should be our chosen dinner  #pekingduckwins

Peking duck is absolutely one of my favorites and I’d have it in Hong Kong over Marmite, because you can always take Marmite on the go or get it in many places. But of course, you can always have them both at different times of day. Joy! :face_savoring_food:

I try to have Peking duck at places that know what they’re doing. Like I just saw a social media video where they clearly didn’t — too much meat left on the skin. Nowadays, more and more restaurants are passing off roast duck as Peking duck, and they’re not the same and shouldn’t be priced similarly, given the greater effort and skills involved in making Peking duck. (Can you tell that I’m obsessed with Peking duck and have been since childhood?)

You’re sounding a bit quackers, to be honest . Maybe you should go cold Turkey for a while.
Have a lovely Christmas and New Year Maggie8K

I wonder if anyone else gets up at crazy o’clock to travel to a sit? We left at 6.00 am to drive the 5 hours to the coast in Spain. When we arrived we got the last parking spot near the venue! So satisfying!
I sent a text saying we’d landed and the host was ready for an earlier hand over so that’s worked well for us both.
We are looking after 2 cats and a dog here. They are all elderly. This is a repeat sit and I must say the cats are fatter than 6 months ago. The dog is in good shape but very food driven!
I asked for info on the meals frequency and meal size .. they’re very well fed! Also treats first thing and once they head to bed!
There’s is a running machine here which I might adapt for a pet boot camp while I’m here.. Christmas is a challenge for all believers!
It’s doing the animals no favours to become so big! Maybe the owner hasn’t noticed the gradual increases?
Last time the pet food ran out and I bought extra as a leaving present.. this time the food supply is very plentiful. Indoor cats don’t get the exercise the dog does.. it’s not their fault.
I’d like to take the cats on walks too!

The Ginger “ Baby” is taking up significant bed room! Poor Mum! Fat Cats Rule!

This cat thinks this is an innocent addition to the furniture and has useful resting options! How wrong can one be?

Enjoy your bootcamp sit!

I might need someone to sit me and slim me down, too.

I arrived at a sit that started early after a three-hour drive. But I rise super early vs. many folks. Plus, when I’m working, I have a lot of control over my schedule, so even if I needed a nap, I could do that.

BTW, some places, it’s better to drive early, IMO, because traffic later in the day can be a nightmare. With the sit I mentioned above, if I had left later, I would’ve hit traffic where I started from and where I ended up.

On a holiday sit in San Clemente with my daughter. Two older dogs, though one still has some zip. Trying a short walk yesterday and the older of the two fell over, right into a cactus. It took several sessions getting the spikes out of him. Lovely backspace with a spa hot tub, unfortunately it is expected to rain a few days next week. Will get some tan before then. Very large home, luckily cleaners come every week. They do not want us to clean. The cleaners come as a set of 4, so very glad about that. Doggie door so easy to go the ocean and do a walk or Boxing day shopping. Or go to a Christmas party on Sunday in Laguna Beach. All good. Happy holidays every one. Hopefully everyone is safe and enjoying their sits.

Santa has arrived early where you are! Hope all the spikes are out now! Poor boy!
Hot tubs are a great extra! The rain is refreshing once in a hot tub, I imagine!
Some sits I have serious withdrawal symptoms: the charges themselves or life’s little luxuries!
Many Happy Returns Everyone!

It appears Santa must be enjoying himself far too much wherever he has chosen to arrive early, as there is certainly no sign of him here in Milan. I am quite surprised by the rather minimalist Christmas decorations around the city.

But hey-ho, who needs Santa when this little charmer is in town?
