Who is on a house sit just now? How's it going?

Sitting on Büyükada, Türkiye’s :türkiye: equivalent to the Channel Islands. Six cats, sea views, art deco house, no cars just bikes & island life for a month :raising_hands:t3: #sofarsogood

Oh wow that’s lush! Enjoy!

Snooze and you lose @Highfive

as posted in the Share Your Photos, (sorry for repeating/duplication)

I am on my first ever sit with horses, 3 of them, one an ex racehorse. and 3 little Border Terriers, funnily enough, in the Scottish Borders. Loving it so far.

love the Bugzooka! Recycling/food chain at it’s best.

My final sit after six months in the UK!

Back to Miami for some summer heat

I never thought of Turkeys laying eggs, but on a recent trip to the Outer Hebrides my brother went back on last day to place we had been getting hen and duck eggs from all week and was given a Turkey egg.

now that is a BIG dog. Love the Weimeraner too.

Another tough sit @Cuttlefish!! I know you’ll force yourselves to enjoy the month there .

I lived with a Weim for 8 years - Lucy was the most willful dog I’ve ever know.

I am on a lovely sit in Yorkshire and the HO just texted me to tell me to help myself to her wine cupboard. :-))

Ronnie LOVES the sound of his own bark

Especially when the horses come around.

So a Bank Holiday and a heatwave in UK will make it time for hot dogs! I take Sable out early and late and he gets plenty of exercise. A midday walk is also possible and he lives right next to a large Beech wood. It’s lovely to see him chase imaginary squirrels and the occasional real one! Many shops and publicans have bowls of water outside their premises. It’s good to see the obvious care and concern shown to dogs on hot days especially.

Stockholm, summer and these two adorable cuties. Full pot

In London with two Westies - It’s a hard life!

Man, 32ºC is typical summer temps from where I am. One thing that really bothers me about people walking their dogs during these warm temps is, they don’t check to see if they pavement is too hot to walk on. It can get sizzling hot.

Yep, I come from a hot climate too so I know about dogs in the heat. My worry in the UK was the cold. Sometimes I’d think maybe they need shoes, this concrete must be freezing  32°C pretty standard summer day for me, still in the mid 20’s heading into winter.

So it’s very hot and unless dogs get out early or late it’s a problem keeping them happy. Here are some suggestions for filling the time productively with the dog being indoors more. Not my ideas but I thought I’d share and please comment if you feel like it!

I thought that being stuck in an elevator couldn’t be topped. It can.

I am doing a sit which is in a beautiful home that backs on to a national park. The owners told me that it was fine to take the dogs (2 black Labs) off lead in the park. Everyone does it.

The park is gorgeous, full of wonderful people with dogs both on and off lead. There are incredible trails and stunning open spaces. The dogs love to ramble in the woods and chase each other in the fields.

The two Labs that were my responsibility disappeared. They didn’t pop out of the woods, as they usually did when I calked them.

Eventually I came across groups of people laughing. It was one of my wards that were the cause of all the laughter.

Someone “found” a pork roast, likely about to go onto a BBQ.

Oh thank you @GaryP! I will be laughing about this all day long.
