He was just wondering when you were going to get out of his chair!
On the last few days of a 2 week sit in coastal North Carolina - not right on the Altantic but a city block off the Intracoastal waterway, visible between houses.
4 dogs (3 for the 1st few days until the HO’s son dropped the 4th off).
Oakley is a 6 yo Pyrenees - probably about 120 lbs.
Friday is a 10 yo Pharoah Hound
Wilbur is a 10 yo French Bulldog (I’m told)
Sophie joined us a few days into the sit when her family left to join the HO on a family trip
Everyone is allowed anywhere -
All 4 get along very well!
It’s a repeat sit - I sat Friday and Wilbur about 5 years ago in a different house along with three other very old dogs who died.
There is a sea turtle rescue organization nearby that I visited.
OMG he looks so proud of himself! Did you find the rightful owner of this prized possession? 
What was the outcome??
Well…he wouldn’t give up the roast voluntarily and I didn’t want to have a big scene. He was off lead. We walked along the busy trail, everyone laughing and asking as we walked by, then he finally decided to stop and drop the roast, thinking his hard work would now be paid off with a delicious lunch.
Sorry…finger dyslexia… anyway, as soon as he dropped it, I managed to grab it and take it back to where I was doing the sit. The owners and I discussed it thoroughly. No one had an idea where the roast came from. I cleaned it up, wrapped it up really well, put it in the owner’s freezer and told them the evidence was there, preserved for whatever use they wanted to put it to.
Great fun owners, so it was not and will not be an issue.

My last day at a repeat sit that works so well for Home Owner Cavachon and me. She’s returning from The States today, having attended her grandson’s graduation. Sable and I have clocked up some impressive steps totals as this retirement village is promoting exercise this month! They are a lovely bunch of people 3 of whom want me to look after their dogs next too!
We have had some great social gatherings for coffee, cheese and wine, organized talks and trips out together. In addition there was a heatwave so we all feel we’ve had a holiday abroad at no additional expense!
Looking forward to coming back to the area in the New Year.
My last day. Leaving in a couple of hours. Time to tackle the dishes I have been collecting for the past couple of weeks. Since I barely cook, I usually wash whatever cups or plates I use by hand. This time, however, I decided to get some help, so I put them straight into the dishwasher, with the grand plan of running it once it was full.
Well, the big day finally arrived. Time to wash up. No detergent. Looked everywhere. Nada. So I had to unload the dishwasher and wash up everything by hand … in 3 batches. Oh well.
What did I learn from this? When you rinse dishes with very warm water, they dry almost instantly and can go into cupboards right away. Every cloud has a silver lining, I guess. 
I’m on a sit where I can see my home from the upstairs windows- I pop home for dinner etc so told the HO they didn’t need to empty the fridge or make wardrobe space. I’m also doing all my usual activities except from a slightly different location-and I get to live with a very handsome black cat (I get my cat fix) and an incredibly easy sensitive quiet spoodle. I’ve just been lick washed by the cat…. I think I’m being accepted/included in the ‘pack’! I’ll expect a mouse gift by the morning 
I am currently on a repeat sit for former THS homeowners. They have some cameras set up outside to check out the wildlife on their rural property and they always share access with me when I am here. Yesterday we caught a lovely cardinal bathing and then a coyote passing by in the middle of the night.

On my way by fast train from Madrid to Cadiz for my next housesit with three cats and a dog . As many know the Pope is in Spain at the moment… I know he has blessed trains and planes with holy water for his entourage’s safety. I did a double take this morning while waiting for the platform to be announced!
