She did. I slipped on shiny floor getting up, and banged my knee, but I will survive.
Poor you! I’m glad the pup was settled, and hope that your knee isn’t feeling too bad. Hope you’re getting lots of love from your little doggy friend to distract you!
Those ears
I am on a sit in LA, while my daughter graduates today. Cat sit. So they can be left for long periods. Hectic since we are also moving my daughter’s stuff into storage, she is coming back for her masters. My inlaws are in town, lot of meals out. Will be glad when I take them to the airport on the 18th.
Enjoying the late afternoon sun with Hank (cat) and Stuart at the start of Canada’s Victoria Day weekend.
I’m sitting in Virginia with Sammy, one of my favorite cats. He liked the goose feather I found outside.
About a week into a 3 week sit with Maya in Asheville, NC. Very comfortable condo downtown, lots within easy walking distance (including a 2 screen movie theater).
Maya is a middle-aged cat and very undemanding. She has an auto-feeder for 7 am breakfast - although she is sitting waiting for it to dispense food by 630 am. And then I feed her mid-afternoon and before bed.
She has a great window perch for watching the world go by. She is not a lap-cat and doesn’t like to be picked up but she does sit next to me on the couch for ear scratches.
On a short sit in Anaheim. Nice to be near downtown areas, the Packing house, the farmer’s market yesterday. Sweet year old fluffy dog. Could have watched the fireworks at Disneyland from my bedroom last night, but too lazy to watch.
I am on day 1 of a repeat sit with a lovely Whippet puppy who I sat for just 10 days ago. The owners are just back from a holiday with her down South (England). They messaged me last night to say that they had noticed a cut on her cheek and in the last few hours it had become swollen. They asked if me that if they made a vet appt for late this morning, (after I arrived and after they had left), 20 miles away (local ish to me) would I take her? Of course I would.
They thought it might be a bee sting, but on closer inspection there was a definite hole. Then they realised that 2 other dogs she had been playing with had been a bit rough, and it was in fact a puncture wound from a bite, now infected. Poor soul.
So I took her to vet, thankfully it is superficial, vet cleaned up wound, ejected some fluid from it, and shaved around it to keep it clean/hair free, and poor wee mite has antibiotics for the next 5 days.
I gave her the first dose tablet on a Jacobs Cream Cracker, with McLelland Seriously Strong Cheese, spreadable, my own favourite, and it would appear hers too, as she stole anther whole cracker from my plate as I turned my back to make my cup of tea.
!
She is gonna be just fine.
P.S. If you are in UK and haven’t yet tried this fine Scottish Cheese, I thoroughly recommend it.
I hope she feels better soon @RedLassie
On another note, I have crackers in the cupboard that I wasn’t sure what to pair with, so I’m going to go to the shops and get some of this cheese spread!
I’m in Paris with one indoor cat. The apartment is cozy, and the cat is very personable.
Pets, fabulous travel destinations and no-cost accommodations. I love this odd life we’ve all chosen to live!
Just started a long sit in Redondo beach. With a large lab mix. He sheds like crazy and we tried to brush him – there are several dog brushes, even one with plastic balls on the ends, like a hair brush — but he doesn’t like being brushed. What dog doesn’t like being brushed? I had 2 plants I was dragging around and realized I left them on the sidewalk in front of the sit I left yesterday. One was my herbal pot. So sad.

I would imagine if there was such a thing as a Build Your Own Cat kit, this may be the result!

We cared for a similar multi coloured cat and it was called Puzzle. I can understand why.
