I left at 1700 after one train cancellation, 4 changes that required a good walk in the rain at 2200 in London to catch the last leg of my journey by only seconds, no exageration.
I am now at my next sit in the home of lovely woman who picked me up at the station, left me fully stocked with food, wine and treats, 3 gorgeous felines and the biggest television I have ever seen in a home.
Watching Game of Thrones, warm, snuggled and peaceful, I am awake in my dreams with a very happy grateful heart.
My goodness, I bet the heart was beating fast when you just made it to your last leg of the journey @Amparo! But what a warm welcome from your current owner. We meet such beautiful, kind people, don’t we, in what we do and love. I can just see you snuggled up with your feline friends and soaking up the peacefulness. Enjoy.

And sometimes things go topsy-turvy.
Most of Eaton, CO lost natural gas last night with no schedule for restoration. The gas company came around and shut off service at each meter while they are working on whatever the problem is. When they turn it back on, the gas co will come and relight all the pilots.
My sit has a microwave and a toaster oven, but the stove is gas so heating up water for bathing will be a challenge. I filled 2 large buckets and am leaving them in the sun today.
This is the second time something like this has happened to me - last Jan, sitting in Conn, the city sewer line backed up. I found a puddle of water in the basement and let the HO know. They called the city which was out within an hour letting me know they had opened the line at the street and that a cleanup company would be coming out to clean and disinfect the spill.
So two disruptions in 52 sits - could be worse!

Half way through a 3 week sit in the Seattle, WA (Washington state USA, not Western Australia) area right now. Loving it!
We live in the middle of Texas, so loving escaping the June heat for the PNW cool/wet.
With the owners permission we are treating the indoor-mostly cat as an indoor-only cat, … but she’s adapted really well. She’s low-maintenance needing constant-grazing dry food, morning and evening wet food, and littler box scooping twice a day and cleaning every 5-7-ish days.
We’re keeping their home as clean as we’d keep our own (which is clean!), pottering in and maintaining yard a little (pulling some obvious weeds; mowing lawn once a week; watering here and there; etc.). Most/many of the rooms in the home have the doors closed, and we’re mostly keeping them that way (peeking in just once or twice a day to make sure all is OK (no lights on, no funny smells, no puddles of water on floor, etc.))
We flew into Seattle, rented a car for the duration of our stay. We’ll have a car-free day, then a day-trip car-day, rinse, repeat.
Homeowners gave us a great in-person handover, and a brilliant Welcome Guide, including things in the neighborhood, and we’ve certainly considered their input in picking activities and restaurants/pubs to visit, etc.
Yeah, all in all, thoroughly enjoying things.

The Upper PNW must be such a welcome contrast to Texas. if you have the opportunity do try and visit some of the Islands, if you haven’t done so already. My personal favorite is Bainbridge Island and only 15 mins on the ferry fro Seattle and one way is free, the return to Seattle, I think it’s their way of saying “Thank you for visiting and thank you for leaving”

Lovely, serene setting in Wisconson, USA. Caring for one sweet rescue pup. Enjoying amazing gardens complete with a babbling brook. Have been able to share this

@Kelownagurl it looks like there was a silver lining to your recent unexpected change of plans. I don’t think I’ve heard you mention sitting alpacas before, so maybe it’s a new experience for you. Enjoy

A novel experience in Central Park today. I looked up to see a guy riding by on a bicycle with a karaoke setup, microphone in hand, blasting his Frank rendition of The Summer Wind. 
I wasn’t quick enough to get his picture.
