We are currently on a fabulous house sit in The Dordogne looking after two Airedale Terriers called Sherlock and Mrs Hudson.
We have been out exploring every day with them, we have visited Vineyards, been out on a boat trip which they loved and various historic towns and restaurants and surrounding countryside.
Here are some photos of our adventures from this last week
Gorgeous pics @Samox24 … thank you I’m currently sitting on a train in Irvine CA and these are giving me a pet joy interlude from what has been a “different” journey…
I just finished my fifth sit with the adorable Barclay in San Diego and usually enjoy the Surfliner from San Diego to LA, for me it’s better than flying, however the last storm to come through Southern CA damaged the coastline track between Irvine and Oceanside causing subsidence now the journey has three stops with two trains and a bus … I’m just off the bus
Didn’t know all of this until Thurs when I booked so if there’s a remote chance any member of our community is thinking of letting the “train take the strain” between LA & San Diego … the advice is, find another way
Oh my @Samox24 that sounds very toasty. I must say, after the high temps overseas this past summer, we are loving these milder fall days in the PNW. Almost time for us to break out the cozy flannels
We are on a house sit right now in the Netherlands. We are watching a lovely 15-year-old deaf, grandma doggy and she is an absolute delight! We also got to meet one of the hosts for a short while last night and he was so friendly!
Hi @airealanddaniel. Welcome to the community forum, and thanks for jumping into the conversations. I’m glad you’re enjoying your current pet sit. Older dogs can be such a delight!
2nd day of a 10 day sit with Ellie an Aussie doodle in North Saanich on Vancouver Island, BC. Cool nights, pleasant days. So far no rain. Wonderful sunsets looking west from the back deck of the house over the Saanich inlet.
Went to the Butchart Gardens today - beautiful, but maybe a bit too formal and manicured for me.

We’re taking the Pacific Surfliner south from San Loius Obspo to San Diego on October 31st. I really should be getting my transport news from other sources than THS, but your post made me check with Amtrak. They said that the construction should be finished October 30th. We’ll see. With all its quirks, I still love taking the train.
