Who's on a house sit now? How's it going?

Great Castle. It is said that this cistern provided the water supply for the castle inhabitants. The water was brewed into ale to make it safe to drink. Fantastic excuse for a home brew :joy:

I am so happy to have met this boy, who is pure joy and bringing his big heart’s feisty love to fill up my sad, deflated heart.

I love Trusted Housesitters, and I pray it keeps evolving, and refining, and growing, because Trust truly is the only gold in this world. I trust this boy agrees. Off we go…for another fun walk in Nature, to let beauty heal it all.

@anon84784007 so sorry that you are experiencing the stress of a host curtailing the sit 5 days early - a similar thing happened to us during a sit this year - it was the most stressful experience we have had on our THS journey .

It puts the sitter in a very vulnerable situation as you can’t insist on staying in their home - but at the same time if you agree to leave ( = agree to the cancellation)you aren’t entitled to claim the insurance for a cancelled sit - and either way you have the inconvenience of finding suitable alternative accommodation at the last minute whilst dealing with the hosts and still continuing to care for their pets and home until they return.

Even if you are entitled to make an insurance claim for the alternative accommodation, you will be out of pocket for several months before the claim is settled ( minus the excess which you won’t get back ).

I am glad to hear that you are getting all the support you need from THS member services . Although our experience of 1 out of 6 sits curtailed not for an extraordinary circumstance , is not a great statistic . We have gone on to have two great sits since , so our faith is restored that it’s the exception not the norm .

On my favorite sit (number 7!) with these two little guys. Luckily they didn’t waste too much time trying to make friends with the big black dog.

Marvellous. My dream. I love to see your adventures

This is my Melbourne buddy, Fez. 12 years old and recently lost his brother of 10 years. :disappointed_relieved: He loves exploring, so we’re having a great time checking out different streets and parks each time we go for a walk.

Yes, he is. I’m with him for 6 weeks and loving every minute of it. I’m going to miss him dearly when I leave.

Just started a new sit today. Sweet cat in London.

So far, he’s sniffed me and my baggage several times and followed me into different rooms. Also has let me pet and comb him a little. His humans warned me that he’d be a bit depressed for a few days or so, after they left.

@Joanne Where can cats watch this, please? I’ll try if I can access it for my current cat buddy. The home has no TV, but I have a laptop with me.
