Although I love the freedom of this lifestyle, it can be a little isolating at times.
I would love to set up an online Meetup Group for Solo Housesitters, to meet up and chat in real time on a Zoom call.

Hi VanessaW, I’m interested. Also a solo sitter. I’ve done 25 sits and I feel the same. Love it, but the isolation does get to me sometimes, especially when I’m in a very rural area. My friends and family don’t really understand the house sitting and think it’s a bit mad, so would love to connect with others doing the same thing!

Yes that would be great. I’ve been full time Housesitting since January 2019 with a break during the pandemic. My home in Cheltenham is currently rented out but I plan to go back there in July for a while and probably sell it. I’ll continue sitting but going from home as am feeling a bit tired with being on the move constantly.
So happy for a zoom call and would love to meet up in person when I’m home.
I’m currently in Southern Ireland where I’ve got back to back sits for 3 months. I’m at my current sit
until Friday morning then start another that afternoon.

P.S. I haven’t used Zoom for ages so would have to re-familiarise myself with it!
I will be at a sit in Cheltenham myself in June and into early July, so it would be lovely to meet you in person there. I think it is possible to do a direct message in private, so we can swap numbers and email addresses there if you like.
I have professional Zoom, as I use it for my work, so I can send you a link. Then you just need to click on it. I’m not sure if you will need to download the Zoom app on your phone or device in order to join the meeting though…

Yes, that would be great. I’m not house sitting at the moment. I’ve taken a month off to enjoy my home again. I’d forgotten what it looked like. Afternoons are great for me. I live in Dublin. My next sit is France at the end of May. Look forward to chatting!

I’m a solo sitter in the US - about 100 sits since starting in summer 2019. Have sat in Australia, South Korea and the UK but most of my sits are US, so there would be a time difference I’m scheduled up until New Years so there would be a time difference.
I’ve been fortunate to attend several FtoF meetups - the UK, Australia, San Francisco, Seattle, and Minneapolis and have enjoyed them. I’ll direct message you with my email address should you set something up.

I travel on the buses as I leave my vehicle in Spain where I’m resident. I’ve got a post about meeting in The Cotswolds this summer on here somewhere!

I’ll be sitting in West Byfleet for sit #70 until the 20th, then have sits in London, Paris and Frankfurt taking me through late June. I too love this life, but yes, it can be isolating. I love the idea of a Zoom meetup! Count me in.
