We looked at it but there are only 6 active sits globally and 26 total so it seems pointless for a sitter to join at the moment. I read the bio on the two guys and they’re bright and talented but no updates have come out since 25 March and hardly any new sign ups so I’m hoping something will change. #fingerscrossed
Well, you know, THS had only 6 sits listed once upon a time, but some people chose to support them and so they grew and flourished
. I don’t really understand your view when they are currently free to join so there is nothing to loose.
I looked at the Globalpetsitter website today and seems the have updated their chngelog today, so they appear to be alive and well.
Oh right! I’d forgotten the name. I will have to look up Global Pet Sitter.
The Guardians Tribe seems to be having problems with its website, not good for a startup.
Example of company customer survey, results + roadmap published today. Generate Press is a popular Wordpress plug-in.
Suspect easy to underestimate the size of competitive moat around THS. High barriers to entry. Surely takes #years, $$funding to gradually accumulate both parties to a matchmaking platform. Suspect would need meaningfully different value proposition to gain traction. Better mousetrap insufficient. But kudos to the swarm of entrepreneurs - maybe one will emerge, or keep THS on its toes. Guess see how unfolds.
Second example of public technology roadmap from customer feedback (even Discord based).
Projection Lab is a best-in-breed financial planning tool - best I know and I’ve played with plenty
. Intuitive graphics, international tax rates, easy scenarios, monte carlo backtesting, all sorts features. In any case, the development team has a Discord forum (like THS) and collates customer feedback into a public technology roadmap. Remarkably transparent. Customers feel heard - and yes, we’re customers not just members.
I doubt that THS considers that it has any real rivals and that might partly explain why it seems to have little or no engagement with members about improvements. Instead we get a recent so called enhancement with a check out list.
This imagines a company that actually cares about what members want or think.
