One thing to be aware of when booking a lounge pass is that they are per person. If two people are nominated then that uses up two separate lounge passes.
The attached description of “2 lounge passes for you and a friend” is a bit misleading and we were under the impression that a couple travelling together would only use up one lounge pass per visit.
When applying for a lounge pass (which is very simple and straight forward via chatbox) you are asked to enter the following details:
- Please have the following information ready:
- Registered Email Address
- Country of airport
- Airport name
- Terminal number
- Flight departure time
- Flight date
- Flight number
- Country of arrival
- Full names of passenger(s)
Not a big issue as we were very appreciative of our layover time in the Dubai Lounge, but got a bit of a surprise when a request for a lounge pass on the return leg was declined.
In summary, if you are travelling as a couple then you essentially only have one lounge pass per year with the Premium Membership.

This happened to us too. We thought exactly the same as you. Our 2nd lounge pass request was politely declined by THS as we had already used our 2 lounge passes for 1 lounge visit as a couple.
Has anyone requested a lounge pass but ended up not using it/ not allowed to enter due to overcrowding?
Not due to overcrowding but there was a really last minute change in my first flight schedule, which meant the time I had booked was not when I actually was in the airport.
Hello,In Montreal, AF lounge, we did not have access because too many people, I wonder if we can have a second chance with a new pass because we are leaving in a week, thank you

I think you should try. You have not been able to use it so you should still have that pass. I mean, we have the right to effectively use it twice for one person or once for two people.

Just get an Amex Platinum.

We had the same issue and now the same question. I was going to check with THS Support in September( our earliest trip). Feel free to post an update if you find out earlier. They can probably tell the passes were issued but not used.

I asked about new lounge passes, ours were not used because there were too many people at the Air France Montreal lounge in May, unfortunately it is not possible to receive new ones before the date of my arrival. subscription
Sorry I didn’t get this part.

Greetings,
I am based in the US.
The airport lounge pass isn’t actually that good of a deal. In the US, one can just pay his/her own way into most airports for $40 - $60, depending on the airport and the airline. So…the annual pass, IF anything, might save you $30 if you go to a Delta lounge, as an example. It could also cost you more…two airport lounges at $40 = $80, Premium membership is an additional $90.
Also, to @anon22438636 point, I also have an AMEX Platinum. I don’t need the passes.
However, the fee is $695.00/year for the card itself. So…if your whole purpose of the AMEX (many more benefits of course) is to simply eat, drink, sit and possibly shower better than others in an airport for a few hours, one can buy between 11 and 17 passes/year for the same price. If you are in 20 airports/year or more, this may be a good deal.
Members purchasing premium for the airport lounges are simply not looking at the bigger picture. The main benefit of premium (for sitters) is the trip cancellation…which is a $1,500 value if used, more than twice that of an AMEX as described.
True point, but of course we also take advantage of all the other bonuses. As perpetual traveller we use it a lot.
Do you mean you have to wait for your subscription renewal to obtain a new set of lounge passes?

Used to have Amex Platinum but once Costco stopped taking it, we switched to Capital One Visa Venture X
The annual fee is $395, but they give you $300 annual travel credit, so its basically $95 for unlimited lounge passes plus a lot of other benefits like Hertz’s President’s circle, price matching on airfare cost etc.
Cool, unfortunately not available outside the US.
@BunnyCat
In addition to the AMEX Platinum…I also have the Venture X! AMEX is not accepted everywhere so when Costco did the switch years ago, I got a new AMEX (at the time, they had a lot of benefits other cards didn’t…but now have) and the Venture X! I honestly haven’t tried using the Venture for airport privileges as the AMEX is simply more well known and recognizable…but maybe I will next week when I am in Seattle! If they don’t let me in, I will just give them the AMEX!
Nice picture by the way!

Hello,i have already
I already had lounge passes in May, and I was unable to access because Air France said they were full, I thought maybe I would have new ones in this case, my TSH subscription renewal will unfortunately have after my need for pass…
