I do have concern re HomeOwners incomplete listings. Pets are our priorities, secondary to that is completed information ABOUT AMENITIES. How many times does it ONLY say WIFI. We, as previous HOMEOWNERS, and now SITTERS, are interested in our sleeping arrangements.
Would THS admin not think it a good idea for HomeOwners to COMPLETE their application profile prior listing. There could be, for example, a message thrown back to HomeOwners requesting they complete their profile. SITTERS make the effort!
I suspect new homeowners are aware of the amenities section. It is a relatively new addition so homeowners who have been with THS prior to its introduction wonât be aware the section is there.
âRelatively newâ???
At least 2 years?
I never actually read the amenities section but Iâd guess that those who only have wifi checked are long-term members whose profiles existed before more options were available. Should THS require them to update that section before they can do a new listing? Yes. Will they? no.
when youâve been a member for a decade or so, 2 years is relatively new.
Really? Time flies.
I guess it is relative to me as I have been sitting for 11 years and it wasnât a âthingâ for the majority of that time.
Even if youâre a new owner, THS does not make it a requirement. I have seen listings where the whole section is missing.
+1. Weâd support THS policy encouragement that any new housesit listings require some standard of disclosure on minimum property amenities. Itâs just tickboxes so surely canât be that time consuming. Helpful info, esp on longer duration housesits. If thatâs unpalatable, perhaps Pet Parents with negligible information could be auto-nudged to complete their profile (as housesitters, we receive regular pop-up reminders). Bonus points if âhigh speed wifiâ were redefined to a simple objective scale (as noted by others in threads).
Absolutely agree - they should need to fill out the whole form. The same case for the welcome pack. There doesnât seem to be a minimum requirement so it often comes with an address, name of pet and maybe a vet number - thatâs all lol I kindly request that THS consider asking HOs to tick off a minimum list of info and prep requirements for the benefit of sitters. Itâs not going to put them off listing their property to require them to do so and to also ask them to list accurate photos of their property (not real estate pics! I got burned a couple of times and arrived to a totally different vibe than the pictures.)
A homeowner should receive a âprodâ to fully complete their profiles before they can publish. It seems fair ⌠doesnât it!
