Is anyone else on Overlap? Would be great to connect with one another there – then, if we happen to be in the same region with one another, we’ll see the date overlap and can get in touch about a meet-up! (Not trying to sell anything here! Just seems like a good solution and wanted to reach out in case anyone wants to connect
)
For context, here’s how the app works: You input your dates + location. Then, based on your privacy settings, your connections will be able to open up their map and see where in the world you are. I believe you can also set up notifications to ping you when one of your connections will be in the same location you’re in at the same time as you.
I love in-person meet-ups with other travelers, but it’s hard to know when our dates/locations coincide. If anyone’s interested in connecting on the app, feel free to reach out!

Never heard of it, but I’m a member of the FB-group “Go with Less”
Every Sunday, you can (per continent) let others know where you are and if you’d like to meet up.

I’m not fond of sharing personal data online. Especially where my data is stored in countries where the government suddenly can do a 180 and use my data for other purposes. So I’m trying to limit the spread of personal data as much as possible.

I can see you only joined the forum 2 weeks ago, personally I think the way this forum does it sounds much better to me, have you had chance to check it out yet?
I’d never heard of Overlap until you mentioned it, but using it could lead to people being offended or take things personally if they didn’t want to meet up with certain people or when people say no because they’ve already got plans? What if there was someone that you just didn’t get a good vibe about?
Simply doing it via this forum instead means people have a choice to participate if they are interested in meeting up at a certain place, and nobody gets offended at all that way, because those that didn’t want to participate just go on with their lives.
I think the forum does it better.
