Background Check Issues

Hey friends! I have been a background check with Evident, THS’s vendor. I have been active with attempting to complete this but to no avail. The system continues to indicate that three image is blurry, etc. I have attempted, probably 30 times (!!) and their system declines it every time. I’ve been in communication with the necessary parties, yet they have arrived to no solution for me yet.

I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced something like this with their background check. And if so, how were you able to resolve it? This has been an ongoing issue for nearly two weeks. I have been making plans as a sitter but I feel like this issue may have changed my entire plans for this. So frustrating. I welcome your feedback, or just a positive word.

Thank you all. :folded_hands:t2:

I realize you’ve spoken with an agent however they don’t always have the answers.

Have you tried everything suggested here:

I’m a user and I’m having trouble uploading my ID. What do I do? – Evident ID

You need to post the Sitter forum as owners don’t have background checks.

Also, a suggestion: don’t make too many plans assuming you’ll be able to hop neatly from sit to sit (if that’s what you meant). It will likely take a while to get your first sit, as you won’t have any reviews, and every sit thereafter is only a maybe. This is not meant as discouragement, just a reality check. I find the new THS messaging a bit misleading so my advice is to get set up, create an excellent profile with references, and apply to a few nearby sits before setting your goals too high for grand adventures via Petsitting.

why does it change your entire plans for THS with a few weeks delay?

Hey brother, I appreciate your reach-out. I concur with you. At this point in time, all the troubleshooting listed on that post has been addressed, unfortunately. I have left them a voicemail about five business days ago for a callback but to no avail. I have sent multiple forms, like what we find in that post. I know they are probably annoyed by now but I do continue to be persistent.

I appreciate you @idocsteve.

I intentionally sent it to this forum due to our Combined members being represented on here. To be frank, the only expectation that I have is to have this background check process complete successfully. Thanks for your feedback, @Shafofo and have a great rest of your day.

@Huronbase, that is a good question. Please feel free to send me a private message. Thank you. :folded_hands:t2:

why do I need to send a private message to you. If you cannot share on the forum, it doesn’t interest me.

I had a similar problem while scanning my driver’s license during sign-up, so I used my passport. It worked on the first attempt.

@august, I appreciate your feedback. :folded_hands:t2:

After it declines the image 3 times, there’s an option to use the image anyway. As long as it looks clear to you it will likely be OK.

For some reason this came across as amusing.

IMAGE DECLINED!

IMAGE DECLINED!

IMAGE DECLINED! (but go ahead and use it if you want to it’s probably fine)

Believe it or not that’s the advice I was finally given after weeks of back and forth with the same issue, and it actually worked!

Bad programming/poor user interface. Imagine how much time, effort and frustration would be saved on both sides if the warning message was stated differently.

“This picture may not meet the necessary requirements. It is recommended that you cancel the upload and choose a clearer photo. If you continue, the submission may be deemed unacceptable by our review team which will delay the processing of your application”.

Of course this is Evident’s software and interface, not THS. Perhaps their efforts cwould be better invested in improving their document scanning and recognition software so that it can tell the difference between a blurry scan and a clear one! This would reduce the number of perfectly acceptable scans rejected and the support burden.
