Many state in the listing “sitter must have their own car.”
It shrinks their candidate pool, but it’s up to them.
That sounds great. Of course i know i can google a place. (I usually have too) but think it would save time if the HO said ie: Windermere. Cumbria. N.w.england. youd know instantly if you wanted to go there and perhaps pay more attention to the listing. I’ve seen sits in France,Spain etc. Just the towns name then —Spain. So,onto google again. Which may say…this is a city in Andalucia. Back to google ( yes I do know where andalucia is) so i just feel it’d be more helpfull.
I state must have their own car because if I didn’t, a sitter would arrive with very little means of getting anywhere. Yes, I can collect them from the station train or bus, but if they’re here for more than a week…… Of course I’m diluting my possible sitters but you/they are doing me a favour so of course I don’t want anyone to arrive and be disadvantaged. That’s unfair.
@Lilywize Whether a car is required is essential information for the sitter to know before they apply.
We are currently on a rural sit …
For this sit there is no public transport in the vicinity. Totally isolated and peaceful and we love it . We have a car . Without a car here we wouldn’t be able to get groceries and there aren’t any takeaways to deliver out here!
Rural sits aren’t for everyone but it would be a waste of a sitter’s (and hosts ) time to apply for a sit not knowing that they needed a car to get around.
