Thanks @Silversitters , I guess the only way I’ll know for sure is to contact support. Appreciate everyone’s input.
Please report back on what THS say …
(maybe Frankie knows the answer
)
Lol I will report back but not sure it’s a question Frankie can answer
I am convinced you can upgrade part-way through the year (we did). But I am not convinced you can upgrade only one level (from Basic to Standard). You can definitely upgrade 2 levels (Basic to Premium) and that’s the only option showing to me currently. Standard doesn’t come up as an option. The good news is, we upgraded quite late in the year, Basic to Premium, and still had access to 2 lounge passes! (Mum’s the word).
EDIT: I stand corrected. I just had a thorough play on both app and website and I can indeed select upgrade to Standard and Premium.
We did similar - upgraded 9 months in - paid pro data for the remaining 3 months upgrade - used the lounge passes and have subsequently extended our membership by two years for FREE ( by referring friends ) …
It says “unlimited” saved searches. I’ve been on basic for 11 years and I get alerts for saved searches, but probably not unlimited. Depends how many you want I suppose.
I get alerts on all my saved searches. I’m Basic for 3 years now
Thanks for everyone’s input and experiences.
I have received a response from Support and extract below. Now I am totally confused about the facts. Everyone here has basically said the opposite of what I received back from THS and I’m sure you are all correct as you actually use it. I do wish that THS would outline the details clearly, in depth.
“About the basic membership, it does not include unlimited saved searches. It does not come with the favourites feature. If you change your membership to Basic, you will be asked to keep only three saved searches.”
Update - It all became too hard, I just changed my renewal to Standard just to be sure. Again, I wish things were clearer on the THS website to explain exactly what is and isn’t included rather than a simple snapshot.
Thanks again for everyone’s input, I appreciate it
I can only explain it this way: when I signed up three years ago, these things might not have been restricted, and that policy may no longer apply if someone signs up for a new membership or downgrades now.
Alternatively, they may simply be doing everything they can to prevent sitters from downgrading or from choosing the Basic plan in general, and they might be stating false claims. Based on what I’m seeing, it’s also possible that they technically can’t restrict those features for Basic members and are just trying to solve it through wording, by saying it’s not available.
Hi @ziggy
We’ve queried this with the team, and I just wanted to pop on and confirm that members can have the following:
Basic Membership
Favourite alerts on the app only
3 saved searches on the web, 10 on the app, email and app alerts
Standard/Premium Membership
Favourite alerts on the app only
Unlimited saved searches, email and app alerts
As you’re only searching for Asia @ziggy it sounds like Basic would fit your needs. You would need to make sure your searches are set to “alerts off” on the website, and make sure your phone is set up to receive notifications from the app.
I queried with the team about your alerts, and they’ve let me know that it’s likely to be because you have selected the “alerts on” on the website. If you choose “alerts off” you will receive phone notifications. Can you check and see if that works for you?
I hope this all makes sense, please let me know if not, and I can ask again for more clarification.
Thank you @Jenny for going to the trouble to clarify all this. Excuse my continued ignorance.
So from what you are saying, if I went on Basic, I can have unlimited favourites with alerts on the app (or is there a limit) and 10 saved searches on the app for alerts, is this correct? Support did not give me all the correct information then it seems, looks like they were specifically talking about the web and not the app. Confusing.
Hi @ziggy - just confirming on this post that we’ve been chatting via DM and that I’ve gone back to MS for more clarification when I get a response I’ll update here so that anyone interested can see it!
Hi @ziggy
Here’s what the team came back with, I hope it helps!
"If you are on Basic membership, you have access to unlimited favourites with alerts. These notifications only come through on the App/Phone. There is no facility to receive them through the website. However, you can save favourites either on the website or the App, and you will see them all when a pet parent relists their dates.
Saved searches - 3 can be set up on the Website, and you can save up to 10 on the App (all your searches will show on the website)."
I think I mentioned yesterday that I passed the ticket number where you were given the previous advice to the team, so they can review it and feed back to the agent wherever necessary.
@Jenny thank you so much for all your effort to clarify this. As my membership had to be renewed today Oz time, I decided to just take basic and upgrade down the track if need be. As you said previously, if I’m only looking at SE Asia for now, ten saved searches will be enough.
So as per what you received back from MS, absolutely correct for sure. Now I can see everything clearly as my new plan began today. So I still have hundreds lol of favourites saved, all good for favourites Then when I tried to save my 11th search, I got the pop up saying I had reached my 10 limit and would need to remove one if I wanted to save a new one. All good for searches
So I’m glad I spoke to you to confirm everything and this may now help another member going forward as it helped me. Well done mate
Glad I’ve been able to help @ziggy and with any luck, this will help someone else with the same question at some point!
Basically what I said.
