Bonjour! We are Diana (Di) and Scott. Last year we sold our home of 33 years in Portland, Oregon and are currently in the process of buying a home in Saint Cyprien France. We did our first sit over the Christmas holidays in Portland for 2 sweet kittys. It was a great experience and the perfect way to see our kids! Scott retired (photographer) 2 years ago and myself (flight attendant), last August. We thought TH woud be a great way to travel (and we plan to do lots). We have a kitty named Ringo, who once we get moved to France, will need watching. (She is the sweetest!!). This region (Dordogne) has lots to do and see, so we hope you will consider sitting for us when the time comes.
Bonjour Diane and Scott from two recently relocated Brits (after 8 years nomadic), now long term pet free house sitting (and renovating a small property) in Bourgogne. We got our residencies and now combine home-time with house sits, and it’s been a wonderful couple of years despite all that’s been going on. I’m sure you’ll have a fabulous time both settling into France, and exploring once you are in-situ!
Great to hear you’ve already successfully started your house sitting adventures and lots more will follow! Enjoy finding your way around the forum, connecting with other members and being inspired by their travel stories!! Take care and all the best, Vanessa
Bonjour Di and Scott et Bienvenue en France.
We are french and have been on THS for 4 years now. Since Covid we only house-sit in France and it’s been a great way to discover our own country. We are very happy to see more and more listings in France. Dordogne is a great area and attracts lots of visitors so I’m sure your listing should be appealing for house-sitters looking for authentic french life (with good food and local wine !)
We are actually dog-sitting in Périgord Pourpre (it is a repeated sit), we have been to Périgord vert last summer… and soon to Périgord noir… Perigord de toutes les couleurs
