Broken trust

I have been going back and forth with TH. It is pretty clear to me that they are done taking action. They said they have made a note on her account internally and that I could reply to her review of me.

Yes, 100% yes. Thank you for saying that. I left her a very accurate, non emotional review.

You said that very well and I agree 100%. Can I copy some of what you said here in me response to the review of me?

Sure. But do give it some time. You have almost until forever to post a response to her review of you.

The member dispute process says that you can appeal the decision, it doesn’t state any time limit for doing this .

I suggest you send an e-mail to member services entitled ā€œMember Dispute Decision Appeal ā€œ

Then state that the sitter broke this term ,

"5.3.10. not allow any other person(s) to participate in the sit unless they have been approved in writing by the Pet Parent "

I’m not sure if you have stated that you have already sent THS the Video and text evidence - ( this should have been sent with the original member dispute ) if not already sent you need to send it with your appeal

If you think that this was a serious breach and the sitter should be removed from the platform - tell THS. Don’t focus on getting the review removed which THS rarely do . Focus on the main issue the sitter had a third party staying in your home without permission .

ā€œHow to appeal a decision

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you can request this to be reviewed by a senior member of our Membership Services department

You will be required to send your request via email to support@trustedhousesitters.comapplying the subject line ā€˜Complaint Appeal’

Your appeal will then be reviewed by a senior member of our Membership Services team who may contact you for further information if requiredā€

@Portlandmom I think others have already said this, but it may be worth repetition. When responding to an unfair and possibly untruthful 1 star review it is best to keep your response unemotional and factual. This allows anyone reading the review and response to better assess the situation. Most experienced folks will be able to tell who is being factual and truthful.

You could simply say ā€œ[Name] was asked to leave after allowing an unauthorised guest to stay and left them unsupervised in my home with [pet]ā€. I have informed THS of this and submitted evidence from my fully disclosed external cameraā€. This shows you as being calm and rational, aware of THS policies and upfront about your security camera.

I suspect what @OnTheRoadAgain wrote has resonated as being exactly how you are feeling - and you have every right to feel that. I’m not sure which part you were considering using in your response, but to me, some of the wording comes across as emotional and might backfire and work against you - however true it might be. I think they themselves have advised you to give it time before submitting a response, and that is really good advice.
