Hi there!
My partner and I are new new sitters to the platform (3 petsits completed so far). Our last host initially declined our application and then reached out shortly after to say the other person had to cancel and asked if we could sit instead. We agreed and she sent instructions via text, and we completed the sit. Now I realized she never officially accepted us as the sitters through the platform and so it doesn’t show up in our past sits. She was extremely happy and I’m sure would give us a glowing review. Is there anyway to go back and retroactively have her accept our application for this sit (completed 4 days ago)?
Thank you,
Christina
No, you and they can’t retroactively accept and neither of you can write a review. You can ask them to write you a reference.

You can ask member services(MS) to make it an official sit retrospectively.
E-mail :
Support@trustedhousesitters.com
MS can see the conversation in your THS inbox so if the sit was agreed there ( although not officially confirmed) that should be sufficient information for them to make it an official sit retrospectively.
To leave a review you need to get this amended by THS before the 14 days are up .

Contact needs to be made with support@trustedhousesitters.com.
Both the HO and yourself will need to confirm that this sit took place.
If the HO didn’t cancel the other sitter on the THS platform, that sitter may need to acknowledge that they did not do the sit. It is worth a try and if it is corrected quickly enough, reviews can still happen. Trust me, I KNOW this can be done.
Otherwise do the reference thing as @Maggie8K stated.

Going forward it is very important that you make sure that a sit is formally both offered and confirmed via the THS-platform.
That is how an agreement is set up, and more importantly - that is how we formally agree to follow the THS-standards and rules. In effect that is also how one get the foundation to get help from THS, and get a legal basis to raise a member dispute.
Most sits go well in good faith. Some are troublesome and you can find yourself in a very uncomfortable situation (or worse), regardless of nice photos and a nice talk. To have the benefits of THS when it is of the greatest need, a formal agreement made on platform is important.
Hope you get the review you want (if not, she can be put up as a reference and she can explain what happened in it). But most of all - you dodged a bullet getting a good sit whitout a formal agreement.

Thanks everyone for your help and input! I reached out to the support email (thank you MaggieUU and SilverSitters) and they sorted it out on the backend and confirmed the sit on both ends so now we can leave positive reviews for each other.
Really appreciate the quick response and this was definitely a good lesson to learn!
Thanks again for your help everyone!
