Dates for stay

Is there a check in or check out time? When entering dates, are they considered nights? Our sit is posted as April 5-9. Does that mean they arrive at 1pm on the 5th to start the the stay and leave on the 9th or is the ninth a stay night and leave on the 10th before noon?

5th to 9th would mean a sitter would expect to arrive on the 5th and leave on the 9th. Exactly what time would be something to discuss with the sitter depending on what works for everyone and handovers etc. Some owners ask for or allow sitters to arrive the day before or leave the day after but that is all dependent on space and preferences of both owner and sitter. Flexibility in terms of time is usually appreciated as is being made to feel welcome. Overly transactional language like checking in and out usually doesn’t send the right message or accurately describes the role of a sitter.

You should state then dates you want the sitters to arrive and leave. The finer details can be agreed later on regarding times

Agreed. I didn’t know how to word it. :laughing:We are RV’rs.

Hi @mrhardrockcafe
Best discussing exact timings when you do your pre sit chat with the applicant.

Make sure you include the arrival and departure day in your post @mrhardrockcafe as THS doesn’t allow any overlaps now so the sitter needs to be `'free" for the full duration in order to apply in the first place. You’ll potentially miss good sitters otherwise. #allaboutclearcomms
