Denver/Boulder Colorado meetup, May 31-August 8

Hi! My husband and I are in Colorado for the summer to spend time with family and enjoy the mountains. We have four sits lined up and would love to meet more members of the TH community (sitters and homeowners) while we are here!

We have a lot of flexibility on dates. I’d love to pick a weekend and a public park to share some snacks and conversation! Anyone interested?

I will be in Denver from June 14-22, and Fort Collins for a couple of days after that. I’d love to meet

I’ll be in Fort Collins from June 13 until August 7. I could also join you both in Denver after June 16.

Great. I will PM both of you so we can exchange phone numbers

I really, REALLY wish I could be there to hear more about #BaconCat. The #BaconCat story is my favorite story so far this year… :bacon: :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

I’d like to officially propose Tuesday, June 17th, 6:30pm at Sloan’s Lake Park in Denver! Bring a snack to share and we’ll have a light picnic. Pets welcome as long as they are comfortable meeting others.

Homeowners, sitters, and curious friends all welcome!

We’ll meet at the Sloan’s Lake Playground at the smaller covered shelter. The sun is out and the radar looks clear for the rest of the evening. I’m updating this post on 6/17 at 4:30 PM so this is the day-of confirmation!

Who had the baconcat story?

I am staying very near Sloans Lake, so that suits me perfectly!

Wish I could join you all but we will be out of town… on a TH sit in the mountains! Would love to get together in July or August if you all are still around.

@Emily17 Looking at the map right now, the Sloan park is huge. Where exactly in the park would you like us to meet? Also, are there any tables and benches, or do we need to bring our own seating?

Hi @august, I was planning to get there early to scope it out and then drop a maps link with the exact location! My plan A is the Sloan’s Lake Playground, which has picnic benches, but if you have portable chairs that’s never a bad idea: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1wqhA7GgunaEkpEx6

Updated my post above with this info as well.

I’d be down for round two! Will touch base after we figure out the meetup this week!

I’m staying very near sloan’s lake and I can have a look tomorrow to see if there’s a good picnic or meeting spot.

Can you (Emily) send me your phone number so I can create a group chat with you and August?

I ran around Sloan’s Lake this morning, and there were two spots that looked good for a picnic. One is the playground that Emily suggested. I saved the coordinates, but can’t find them right now :woman_facepalming:
The other is Melrose Garden at the corner of Meade and 19th street. It didn’t have tables but it has benches

Thanks for scoping it out Lassie! Let’s stick to the playground as plan A, pending the weather and how busy it is later.

Luckily the weather should clear by 4, sun from 5

I just dropped by the park–looks like you were right! The sun is out and there are dry tables under the smaller shelter next to the playground. Hope to see you all there!
