Some of ours are also wrong, I dog vs 3 etc; think the duration definitely needs to be on there as this is key info for hosts. Another small but irritating thing is they’ve dropped the capital letter for the co sitter in the title layout so it looks like a misspell but isn’t. Proper names have caps THS!! What a disaster of a “fix”. Please report asap @Mark_B #clusterthingy
Interesting how THS espouse their tamper-proof review system yet have completely tampered with sitters’ reviews in this “new improvement”, causing vital information to be omitted (length of sits) and false information to be provided to hosts eg inaccurate pet numbers, breeds etc.
@Mark_B am I going mad, I’ve looked at my reviews and I can’t see the dates that I sat for the owners? Nothing to say it was an overnight or a three week sit? Is this a bug or one of the helpful updates that are anything but? I’m viewing via the app.
Hi @Daisy999
Thanks for the question.
This was also mentioned in this discussion. I’ll share the answer below ![]()
This was a conscious decision. We find it makes the page easier to scan and can also have benefits for owners who travel on consistent dates. Though, your point is fair and we’ll consider it as we move forward. ![]()
But you removed the sit dates so how do the HOs benefit?
Security benefits
@Mark_B Many of my sits also have the wrong pets and numbers of pets .
I also agree that sit duration is a valid piece of information for display
Cheers @JackieX - I expect to have an update regarding the pet information soon.
And, sit duration feedback has been taken on board - though no immediate change expected.
Please elaborate
@Mark_B thanks for replying. I’d of thought it helped owners see that sitters have a wide range of experience as to sit length and if they see that sitters have successfully completed longer sits they may be more inclined to favour them.
Security - if you mean the dates were removed for owners that travel on the same dates every year and therefore would be criminals would see that the owners would be away on those dates, why not remove dates for non members just like non members can’t message owners? Surely you could add sit length as in days if you wanted actual dates removed?
To me it seems really unfair that the length of sit has been removed. However, I note that this was agreed by the board and is unlikely to change, so looks like another unwise decision is set to remain.
@Mark_B How secure can the app be when all a person has to do is go to the website instead to see the details? ![]()
Please could you explain what is mean by security benefits ?
On both the app and the website when I look at all listings ( including those not currently looking for a sitter ) I can see all the past sit dates .
It’s only when looking a a sitters experience that I can’t see how long the sit was for ( 1 day or 3 months ??) The length of the sit is relevant to a sitter’s experience and this is what the changes were supposed to improve .
If owners travel of consistent dates, a pattern of when they will/won’t be present could appear.
Feedback around duration of sits being present has been taken on board and will be considered as we move forward.
This information is already shown on all listings on both the App and the webpage .
This applies to all listings -those with current sit dates ( looking for a sitter ) and also all those not looking currently for a sitter .
But it also shows that the home is occupied. What’s your next reason?
Absurd reasoning when the dates of past travel are still visible on the HO’s reviews.
Removing sit dates only from sitter reviews is just one more change that negatively affects sitters and its goal, like most of the others, is to make us all appear fungible.
If THS truly is concerned about HO security but also cares about the truthfulness and uniqueness of sitter profiles, why not use sit days instead of sit dates? Instead of showing July 1-10, show “9 night sit”?
This would provide the security you claim you are after, while preserving the valuable sit-length information on sitter profiles.
It’s really rubbish, since when did we spell it as catss if there is more than one. I too have many wrong numbers of pets. Also some have my sits have been 5weeks and some just 2 days which shows flexibility. How is it helping anyone not to have the number of days you sat, because the reviews often reflect that but don’t make sense as you have taken them out of context. All these changes are causing confusion and making things worse
My past reviews and experience bear no relation to reality.
I have reviews showing 4* which were previously 5* (pet care category disappeared).
I have ‘missing’ pets and a few newly acquired ones (I sat for cats but they have since acquired a dog and it shows on my review).
