Just noticed this. Anyone else?
Just found it, thanks to you giving us the heads up @Oztravels. Another unnecessary piece of information and for what purpose??
Did you get that on your email or is it something attached to recent sits?
I’m just curious because I don’t really see the benefit of this change. I mean, the benefit for members. I do see how this can benefit THS ![]()
Just found it, sent it to myself and…..![]()

why??? What’s it for???
Where abouts did you find this?
@Rhe If using the app, click on Past Sits then your last completed sit, then the Share Sit Summary.
I don’t see Past Sits in the app when I open it. just Find a Sit, Sits, Inbox and then my account.
@TheEnglishFlaneur Click on Sits at the bottom, then the Sits page has headings Confirmed, Open Applications, Past. Click on Past.
Thanks!
It doesn’t seem to be on the web version. Who’d’ve thought… inconsistencies between the web and app? ![]()
I’ve noticed this new feature “Sit Story” that allows photos to be added, but I haven’t seen any explanation about how it’s intended to work. The only information I can find says the photos will appear on the sitter’s profile.
Is there any guidance or announcement about this feature?
For example:
-
Do sitters need a host’s permission before sharing photos of their home or pets with the world ? Is there a checkbox to ensure this has been agreed before the photos are published ?
-
Could photos also be used to show issues in a home (for example cleanliness) to warn future sitters?
-
It appears that photos be added retrospectively to all past sits even from years ago - is this correct?
It would also be helpful to know how these photos appear on a sitter’s or host’s profile, and whether they are visible on the website as well as the app.
@Jenny @mark @Sam_F please can you ask the product team to enlighten us ? Also to send an e-mail to inform all members about this .
I don’t see any of these new features but could be because I don’t have any recent sits. I think by now we all know there is no testing environment and a lot of these updates are just added without much planning or reasoning.
@Silversitters makes a good point. If sitters start adding their own photos of clutter or dirty houses to the Sit Story it’s going to get really interesting.
I see it on my past sits in the App only . scroll to the bottom of the page .
I checked, but not showing for me. I do see the sit summary but not the Sit Story. Could be iOS vs Android feature…I guess this is supposed to be a badge we can plaster on social media.
Hi everyone,
I’ve reached out to the team about this - if I get more info I’ll pop back here ![]()
Jenny
I just checked it out from our sitter’s portal on the app. It’s another way for sitters to spread the word about THS (notice the opportunity to share it on Instagram, for example) while at the same time, we homeowners and sitters are now being charged extra for each sit.
They continue to expect us to FREELY spread the word about THS but begin imposing booking fees on us.
Mutual exchange? Huh?
I know, they are really < removed >. No incentives for us - the actual assets of the company - in fact, quite the opposite; higher costs and fewer features.
I look forward to a new company reaching critical mass and taking over the market.
Moderation note: content edited in line with community rules.
Well that strategy could backfire if a sitter post photos of a dirty cluttered home !!
Are you using the app on an iPhone? On my Android smartphone after clicking on Sits I see 2 more buttons for Confirmed and Open Applications, but if I slide these to the left a third button labelled Past appears. This must be one of the worst examples of a dumb and counter intuitive UX and app design, but with THS that’s almost normal. Thanks for your time
@TheEnglishFlaneur I’m on an iPhone and had the same sequence of experience as you. I also don’t see any fancy badges like the photos show so far. Maybe some are being beta testers without being notified? Chaos rules again. My guess is it’s this new company trying to enlist members to do social media posts for marketing. What a huge disappointment TrustedHousesitters is to me these days. ![]()
This German word was posted in the forum a few days and it’s definition sums up what’s happening with THS.
Verschlimmbesserung, having the intention to make something better but instead making it worse.
