Easier to compare, Clearer to choose

This is the same for me for 12 sits including one just completed this week .

The number of pets is not correct although the listing is correct . Theres been no change to the listing .

Also for a repeat sit that has always had the same two dogs . Same listing , same location , same pets every time nothing has changed . But it shows as two dogs for some reviews and 1 dog for other dates ..

And I could go on ..2 dogs and 2 cats is now 1 dog and 1 cat ..

Just to confirm… I do expect more fixes to come over the coming weeks.

This is soooo random.
I seem to be lucky. I don’t know how this will appear for the hosts, but checking my profile, the number of pets on my completed sits seems to be correct (for now), it’s just that some cats became “I don’t knows”.

It’s because the cats themselves, don’t know, or choose not to disclose what they are

@Mark_B is this meant to be a temporary solution? Because I can’t understand how that could be considered an acceptable “fix” to this issue.

Hi @MerryPuppins

There’s a couple of things at play here;

The way we’re processing and displaying some of the stored pet info isn’t happening the way we’d like. Backend improvements have been made, but we need some time to roll out some updates and get back to where we want to be.

Separately, after the updates happen, we know that there will be a small number of historic sits where the pet info shown in the reviews doesn’t match the pets that you cared for - this happened when the pets changed after the sit took place, we fixed the underlying issue from reoccurring some time ago but aren’t yet able to go back and correct the pet info.

Once the updates have happened, the small number of remaining pet information errors are what Member Services can help to remove.

Several of my past sits, have added pets since I sat for them, these all show either no pets or just one pet even thought they had multiple pets when I sat for them. Are you saying that correcting these is not an option? Can you also clarify that the solution will be to remove the review or remove the pets?

Sorry, but this explanation is still a bit too muddy for me to sort out what to expect. Specifically, the part about “aren’t yet able to go back & correct the pet info” implies you will eventually be able to retrieve & apply the correct data as it existed when the sit occurred. Or am I misunderstanding?

Without getting too far into the weeds, I think I have a pretty decent idea of why the issue occurred. And without putting too fine a point on it — if told ahead of time what was changing, the first thing I’d have asked is “what will happen in cases where the current list of pets doesn’t match the list of pets as they existed when the sit occurred?”

Did the development team know that this historical data would be lost/incorrect, & decide to go forward anyway?

26 of my sits have mistakes. Only a few of the listings have had any changes since my sit. It’s really important that our profiles are accurate. All updates should be fully tested before they are rolled out. THS really needs to do better.

@Mark_B I’ve just gone through my reviews on the website - not on the app. Just over 50% of them have errors - a range of different mistakes or omissions: start & end date the same, incorrect/missing pet count, incorrect location. Are you saying that anyone in this situation should contact membership services to have the corrections done?

My guess is they would be inundated. However, I will email them and bring the required corrections to their attention. If I get a timely response with the work done accurately within a reasonable timeframe, I will certainly come back and give the team credit. Don’t hold your breath for that one.

I don’t appreciate being put in this situation by a release being done too early, where beta testing is being done by the members at the members’ expense.

I have also just gone through all my reviews and there are 50 incorrect listings.

So @Mark_B do I have to write to MS and list each of these 50 explaining each error?

I don’t understand your sentence that they can support removing ( not correcting) the incorrect pet information being displayed. What does that mean please?
