Amen to all this—just commenting to show my support! I would also love to be able to exclude pets in certain quantities—i.e. dogs, but no more than three, etc.

This is my biggest pet peeve with the THS website. Did their team ever comment on the topic of an improved search? I’m looking for a sit in France, Spain, Germany, Italy and a couple of other countries and my search shows 14 sits that could work for me but 315 in the UK that I have to look at if I don’t want to scroll in and out of the map… Why can’t I exclude the UK or at least enter +/- 5 countries I’m actually interested in?

Although the web interface has a limit of three saved searches, you can add up to ten when you do that on the app.
(It is one of the incomprehensible things of this web service.)

I don’t understand how the saved searches that you’re mentioning help with my request to be able to enter 5 countries into the search box to see those results. I’m not looking to be updated about newly posted sits I’m looking to be able to do an efficient search from scratch.

The best way to achieve this is to use the map and zoom in on the areas you want as best you can. Unfortunately, you may get the edge of the UK, depending on the European country, but the search does become a little more specific for you.
I understand, but that also works with Saved searches.
In the web interface, at “Your saved searches”, click “view all”. Then click “View sits” of each of them. Yes, that would still be five times of you had saved countries. But one can also save areas of the map and give that search a name like “Benelux with northern France”. Then it is quick to see that area.
Hi @Therese since this thread has been resurrected, it would be great to finally get an answer to the original question. Is the option to exclude locations from searches on the roadmap?

This feature is not available. There have been a few additional search features added to help specify searches, but not specifically with location. I have once again forwarded the request to our product team.
I know it’s not available, I’ve just been wondering if it’s included in future plans. Thanks.

I am so sorry I don’t have the answer to that. However, as the product team work on certain sections, they do take into account all the feedback, so there is always a possibility in the future this will be added, but again would not be able to give you any timing.
It is probably easier for the software people to add choices like “European Union”, “The Schengen area” and “EU + EES”.

I still don’t like it how they do the map but yes one can sorta do it in the way you’re describing. Would just be a million times easier if I can go to the search and type “Italy, France, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal” or whatever and see the results. The UK is located in an annoying spot on the map lol so it’s difficult to exclude it when scrolling into the nearby region on the mainland
