External review won't show on site

Hi all. I’m fairly new to petsitting so have recently graduated from sitting for friends (who kindly left me external reviews) to sitting for strangers. Did my first sit for strangers recently and it went very well. I sent them the link to leave me an external review and they left one. I couldn’t see it so asked the Help Bot who said I would be able to see it if I went to the ‘preview profile’ page and I can see it, but nobody else who visits my profile can see it! I have another homeowner wants to leave me a review but I don’t want them to write anything until I get this website problem fixed. Any advice? I recently renewed my membership here and am a bit annoyed I’m paying over £100 for invisible references.

Go to the chat box, and ask to speak to a real person, and ask them for help. If they are external references, make sure you use those words so there’s no confusion, and not the word “review”, as reviews are only for sits you’ve completed via THS directly.

@ElizabethM Are the sits for strangers through THS or off this platform? If through THS, you do not send a link to them like you do for a private sit. THS reviews are done through your dashboard.

I guess you are talking about the off platform-reviews. I’m not sure why you need those if you are a previous member with THS reviews? When you renewed your membership, didn’t you keep your previous reviews? Or have you just signed up for the first time? It takes some time before your listing goes «live» for a new member due to the ID-check etc.

If you are a new member, while you wait you can for instance take a screenshot of the review and add it as a photo or simply offer it to the host when you apply for sits. As you can see in your listing, you can offer links to your profiles on AirBnB and LinkedIn, but those could also be offered in your application for a sit. Some prefer to do it in the application as they want to minimize personal info. online.

I believe many would regard the THS reviews from THS sits «the gold standard» as they are from paying members of this community. So external reviews for many would be just to get started, as they will have less weight for many than THS reviews.

Unfortunately I’ve done all of this! I also contacted admin a week ago and never heard back. Will try again though!

They are external, so I’ve sent the link for external references.

Hmm, I think you’ve misunderstood my post. I don’t have any THS reviews so I’m building up my external reviews in the hope that it’ll help me get some THS sits. But I’ve been a member for over a year and my previous external references are showing perfectly.

So I actually heard from admin last night! They’ve said they can see the external reference and it should be with the others but it somehow hasn’t published correctly so they’ve escalated it to the website tech team.

I gave different perspectives depending on whether you have THS-sits or not. It was not clear whether you had done THS-sits - you said you had renewed your membership but wrote about external sits only. Happy that member services came through. Best of luck!

I think it would be useful if there was a separate section with Frankie Chat bot to flag a tech query so it could go directly to tech team to answer .

I’m in the middle of the same problem. Have external references that aren’t showing up. The bot is no help. Have you solved the problem?

Not yet. Admin replied last night and said they could see the review and aren’t sure why it isn’t displaying properly. They have escalated it to the tech team so I’ll update of anything changes!

I actually heard back from admin last night. They said it was ‘a known bug’ and they weren’t sure when it would be resolved BUT when I logged on this morning it had been fixed!
