I also find the square map as the way to filter locations inadequate. I would much prefer to list or tick the states or countries Iām seeking. For example, if I want to escape from Wisconsin winters, Iām looking for sits in the sun beltā¦.from Florida west to Arizona. But the map in my browser is square, so itās hard to zoom and locate the map to the states Iām interested in. I would like to type multiple state names in the search box and not have to use the auto-fill that is frustrating.
Soooo many ways that search is really annoying right now.
I wholeheartedly agree. Itās so annoying to receive multiple UK listing alerts per day when your saved search is meant for continental Europe only. So much for THS claiming āYou asked, we deliverā, as happened in the past.
American here. I donāt want to be here either! Anyone overseas or the friendly country north of the U.S. want to adopt me? Please? . (Funny but not funny)
YES!! I have frequently thought the same. For example, I love all of Central America, and I have to save searches for each individual country rather than the.Region.
However for south america I can save one search titled south america and not have to put in all the different countries.
Also it would be fantastic to be able to have one search saved for any country with a hot climate in the north european winter!!
@Maryanne, youāve perhaps resolved this by now. In case helpful, weāve not come across a maximum number of Saved Searches.
So while there is no way to search for multiple distinct locations (e.g. Europe plus Australia) then it is relatively easy to create a Saved Search for Europe and a Saved Search for Australia, each with identical or different other criteria (duration, dates, etc) as you wish.
We find THS Saved Search function (and related notifications) to be a primary method
of identifying new listings that somehow meet our interests. To that end, we have a hearty handful of targeted Saved Searches for different dates, locations, etc. As we have gained experience with THS, our Saved Searches have become greater in number (now 25-30) and more specific criteria.
Thanks for the reply. I definitely have a limit of three for saved searches; perhaps itās because my profile is old or basic. The date and duration search parameters are excellent, but location is not. By posting here, I wanted to see if anyone else was frustrated by this and, if so, could we convince THS to make improvements. Thank you and others for all the great replies!
@Maryanne, weāve only been THS members for 2-3 years so cannot comment on functionality before that time. We donāt recall any THS Forum threads that state such limitations on number of Saved Searches. Perhaps THS listened to your prior feedback and increased maximum Saved Searches? Suggest try adding a few more saved searches and see if they work successfully.
Edit for anyone reading this, I was incorrect, itās on my laptop, on the website, that I can only save three searches but on my phone I CAN save more.
@temba, I use the app and it only allows me 3 saved searches. I think itās due to the level of membership, with a basic membership itās only 3.
You could be right @anon55123711 as I have a Classic membership from the old days before the tiers! I do know that on the website it tells me I have reached the limit on my Saved Searches but I have no trouble adding more through the app!
