We have been housesitting for three years now, part-time though. I, Heleen (46), was born and raised in the Netherlands. My husband, Milton (56), was born in Suriname (who knows where that country is located), lived in New York for 28 years, and is now a resident of the Netherlands.
We are currently in Venice, which is the perfect time to be here with no tourists in sight. On the other side, all museums are closed too. Luckily, there is still plenty to see and explore when we are not working on our online projects.
Looking forward to doing a housesit over Xmas, as we do miss being around animals very much! So fingers crossed we will find one in Italy or nearby soon!

No sit confirmed yet! We are applying to some, but we only apply to those that are within a 6 hours train ride or in Germany, as we want to spend January in the Netherlands.

No cruise ships now for sure! We feel that we are very lucky indeed to be in Venice right now. although the city does suffer from the lack of tourists. So many people’s livelihood depends on it.
That’s definitely the best attitude to keep. We’re in control of our own perceptions and much or our happiness, so why not enjoy every possible second?
