Reminds me of “two-buck Chuck,” wine that’s decent and is sold nationally in the U.S. at Trader Joe’s, a popular supermarket. For many years, they’ve sold cheap wine and many other favorites that have made them hugely popular. (People lobby to get a TJ’s to open near their homes.)

Two-buck Chuck can run two to four dollars a bottle, depending on which part of the country.

Cost Plus World Market, another national chain, sells tons of imported and domestic wines at reasonable prices, too.

We tend to be spoiled for wine and alcohol in the U.S., because our vast marketplace helps keep prices low. Plus, we have much lower taxes on wine and liquor than in many places. I notice that by contrast when drinking or buying abroad.
