Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for today?

Hello everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who is celebrating today! :turkey::fallen_leaf:

While Thanksgiving isn’t widely celebrated here in Scotland, it’s a wonderful reminder to pause and reflect on what we’re grateful for.

Our community of pet sitters and pet owners is something very special, whether it’s all the love shared with pets or the connections we build, and I’m thankful to all of you for being part of it.

Wherever you are in the world, please share what you’re thankful for at the moment, and for those in the USA please share what you’re up to (including photos if you like!) of how you’re celebrating today.

Wishing you all a day filled with joy, warmth, and plenty of cuddles with your furry (or feathery, or scaly!) friends.

Jenny (and Therese, Maeve, and Sam  )

As a Brit, Thanksgiving isn’t something that I’ve ever celebrated, however it’s a good reminder to take a moment to reflect on the things that I take for granted.

I’m thankful for my family - I should tell them a little more often too.

As a Canadian, I am thankful that our Thansgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October. The weather is likely to be better and it doesn’t encroach on Christmas as much.

Lots to be thankful for, including having loved ones to share Thanksgiving with. Also grateful for a delicious catered meal, better than anything we’d make ourselves. :yum:

I love the spirit of Thanksgiving and it’s a great kickoff to the holiday season. We usually start decorating right after T Day.

This is our first holiday season in a new neighborhood and some of our neighbors have started decorating, so it’s already feeling festive. :turkey::christmas_tree::clinking_glasses:

Saw this on social this morning, sweet:

You beat me to it.
Eat, drink and be merry but remember it’s all to be paid for….

As a fellow Canadian, I agree - it’s nice to have a holiday to celebrate soon after Summer has ended.

If I’m honest, I wasn’t aware that Canadians had a thanksgiving!

According to google, in October, you celebrate the harvest. I love that.

Whoops! Wrong Maggie. No worries, it happens.

Sorry :man_facepalming:

As an American I like to focus on gratitude regularly and not just one day. Even though I don’t condone the origin of how it began, it is a reminder to reflect on everything you’re grateful for. I spent a lovely evening with family at a very scrumptious gathering and am extremely grateful for that.

Thankful for hosts who communicate promptly and are decisive. Accepted a sit today with a pair of those. They replied an hour after I applied. We video chatted promptly and they quickly offered the sit. And these are first-time hosts. They expressed appreciation and have already said that they hope I’ll repeat sit their cats. Looks like a lovely home in San Francisco, near a bunch of restaurants and shops I enjoy, so maybe.

Is it any good @Colin or does it rip your throat out?

@Crookie ,

It is a lighter-bodied red with delicate fruit flavors , earthy undertones, and soft tannins. Pairs well with egg ‘n’ chips

Apparently, these folks didn’t have to worry about any leftovers.
