If it is a new feature that will be great as its been asked for for a long time. But it will only work if all members are told about the new function. Equally if it’s a test then members do need to have an explanation so that they understand how to use the new feature.
@Timshazz was this on the app or website or both ?
Thanks for your patience while I’ve been talking to the team!
I can confirm that the “happy to be contacted” feature relates to Sitter references. When a referee adds a reference they can select the option ‘I am happy for X to contact me if a pet owner needs further information about my reference’. So, basically, a pet owner sees that they have consent from the referee to make contact for more information.
I don’t have an answer for exactly when this feature was put in place, but it was during Q1 of this year, which would be between January 1st and March 31st 2023, so it’s been around for a few months now.
On a more general note about updates, @Carla and I are going to be working on ways that we can convey updates and changes with the Forum more effectively, but we’d ask that you bear with us for the moment! We know it’s important to have transparency, and we’ll do our very best for you.
Two of my outside references , people I’ve sat for outside of THS, have checked off this option so the label Happy to be contacted appears with their reviews . When I click on it, this screen opens:
This makes sense.
I am new to THS and only have ‘external’ references so far. These are people who know me very well and would be happy to speak to anyone about my character, strengths, and weaknesses.
My first confirmed sit was canceled for good reason a few months ago.
I am headed to DC to dog-sit over American Thanksgiving and am so excited!
But not as excited as for the 5-6 weeks I have planned in UK for next summer. I have two confirmed sits thus far.
At times I read the Forum and get a little nervous about potential nightmares, but I feel my communication with my confirmed folks has been very honest & I hope a nightmare does not arise (especially so far from home ).
