Hello England: Are you accepting german sitter?

Hello TrustedHousesitters comunity,
we, my wife and me, are looking forward sitting in the UK (West Berkshire will be fine, but also other areas).
As we may not be vaxxed for medical reasons, I kindly ask, if you would accept unvaxxed healthy couple for sitting.
Actually it looks like we (still) have to selfisolate upon arriving in the UK. So 2 weeks or more will be very much appreciated.
Warm regards to all those lovely people out there!

THS as a company doesn’t have any rules regarding vaccinations. It’s up to the home owners to decide. Some owners put in their ads “only vaccinated sitters”, others don’t mention it, so it really depends…

Enjoy your house sitting journey!

Hi @Ralph and welcome to the community and glad to hear that you will be visiting the UK this year. To reassure you, we have house sat over the past year with all our owners (in France and UK) happy to accept either vaccinated or unvaccinated members. We’ve found that it’s more about your level of personal responsibility on safety among others. But, it is about personal choice and there are some who have strong views and you’ll usually see this in the profile. Like many house sitting choices it’s about finding like-minds.

I’m not totally sure where Germany sits in terms of travel to UK at moment, but keep checking the Government website as there are upcoming changes on 11th Feb for entry to UK. As I say, whether these apply to Germany I’m not sure, but here’s the site and a quote from a news article on the same official site…

One of the first western European countries to lift isolation requirements for all arrivals who do not qualify as fully vaccinated, the UK will also scale back travel restrictions for unvaccinated arrivals. From 11 February, individuals who are not fully vaccinated will only need to take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on or before day 2 after they arrive in the UK, as well as filling out the simplified PLF. They will not need to self-isolate on arrival, and will only need to do so on receipt of a positive result.

Good luck
