Hi From Colorado!

Hi there. I’m Patty and I’m married to Richard. We live on the western slope of Colorado, which I think is Colorado’s best kept secret! People generally get as far as Vail or Aspen and think that’s all to Colorado. But they are missing a wonderful area full of natural beauty, plenty of fun things to do and warm weather. We have 2 furbabies…Sassy and Bear. They are at both ends of the dog spectrum. Sassy is 13 years old and Bear is 4 months. I forgot how hard puppyhood is! We just recently both retired and are looking forward to traveling and have some longer trips planned. We found THS while trying to find care for these two munchkins. Sassy is a 8 # malti-poo, and Bear is a 15# American Eskimo. We do love camping with them but occasionally would like some time away so we (I) can sleep past 6:30am! We are looking forward to sharing our home and our babies with others. Let us know if it could be you!

Hi Patty, Richard, Sassy and Bear … a big warm welcome to our Community forum and to TrustedHousesitters, thank you for bringing some Colorado beauty to our forum … The Western Slope may no longer be quite the “Best kept secret” you’ve just introduced it to our TrustedHousesitters community and they are an adventurous lot  I’ve been trying to get to Breckenridge for the past 5 years but it’s never quite happened.

Your fur babies sound adorable, how has Sassy dealt with Bear, is she teaching him some good manners and you are so right we forget how much work puppies are, the end of the day cannot come quickly enough sometimes …

Enjoy being here, do take a look around and join in some of the conversations and we’d love to know more about Bear and his breed characteristics … a pic would be wonderful too.

Thank you again for joining and we look forward to sharing in your THS journey and seeing some of CO “Best Kept Secret”

Hi pkandiko
I live in Utah and have considered doing a sit on the western slope. Years ago I have been to Mesa Verde and road the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
I considered doing a sit in Pagosa Springs but the timing was not right.

Hi Pamela,
We are looking for someone to sit our crew for 2 weeks as we take a trip back to the midwest to see family and friends. It has been 8 years since we moved here to Grand Junction and we recently retired from owning a birthing center here. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife and Richard was my business manager. Because we were so busy with the birth center, we haven’t been able to get back to “home” together since moving here. We need to have someone who would take care of our furbabies for 2 weeks. If you are interested, please let me know. If you haven’t visited Grand Junction, there are lots of fun things to do from hiking to biking, to touring wineries. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Patty
I appreciate you reaching out to me to be a sitter.
But I don’t think that Grand Junction would be a good fit for me at this time of the year.
I do hope you find the ideal sitter for your furbabies.
Sassy and Bear are so adorable I would have enjoyed being with them.

Pamela

That’s fine. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi Patty and Richard and welcome :wave:t2::slightly_smiling_face:
Please keep us in mind, we would love to look after Sassy and Bear for you in beautiful Colorado.
Best Wishes, Samantha and John (from Oxford, England).

Certainly. How much notice do you need. I know with the pandemic it is complicated. We have a trip planned in December over Christmas. Would you be interested in having Christmas in Colorado over Christmas? We are 45 mins from a lovely ski hill that we traditionally go and ski at on Christmas Day. Very new at this so really don’t know how it all works. But, if you think you’d be interested in our Christmas Days, let us know. Thanks so much.

Hi @Samox24 & @pkandiko it’s always great to see members connecting, don’t forget the Direct Message option can be the perfect way to have a one to one conversation …
