Hi from UK and Cape Town

Hi. I’m Joan and have recently joined THS. I have 3 confirmed sits in London and Oxford (2 from THS) from March to Mid May. I have done many sits in and around Cape Town, but as I am now travelling to wherever the wind blows me around Europe and further afield. I am open to sit pretty much anywhere from a week to very long term. I am so excited to meet new people and their pets and to travel to new places. I am pretty much a homebody so will spend most of my time at ‘home’ taking care of my charges.
I look forward to interacting with others in this forum.

Hi Joan, I’m a newby too. I grew up in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu Natal and moved to the UK in 2000.

I hope you enjoy your UK house sits.

Welcome @trustSitCommunity thank you for joining us from stunning Cape Town …

Congratulations on having your Spring pet sitting itinerary almost worked out. Securing international sits as a “newbie” member can sometimes be a bit tricky, sitters often put it down to not “being there” when they apply, it would be great to know what you think helped you secure the ones you have.

Pet sitting is a great way of getting the best of all worlds … Being a “traveling Homebody” (a contradiction in terms if there ever was one) is a great attribute for being a successful pet sitter.

Enjoy connecting with our members from around the world … and closer to home and do send pictures and info on the “secrets of your success”

Hi Angela
Thank you for your welcome message.
I am really excited to be doing these sits. The HOs seem lovely and I look forward to meeting them in person. I think part of my success is that I will be arriving in London well before the start of either of the sits as I already have one booked privately in Kent prior to the start of either of these two.

Yes, although probably a contradiction in terms, I do love to have plenty of time for reading, beading, reserching where to travel to next and love having warm cuddly fur babies for company. That’s my piece of heaven.

Thank you for this amazing forum - I hope to be communicating here from all sorts of new homes with various pets. My first one includes sheep with lambs. :dog2: :poodle: :unicorn: :cat2: :black_cat: :pig: :mouse: :ram: :sheep: :rooster:

Hi Pauline
Thank you for your welcome message and good wishes. I think this is a lovely forum for like minded people who love animals, travelling and new experiences. My daughter moved to London in 2002 and my son in 2005 so I spend a large chunk of every year based there and travelling wherever.
Perhaps we’ll meet sometime when I’m sitting in the highlands.

Hi and welcome Joan👋
All of that sounds so exciting. I wish you the best of luck on your coming sits. I also look forward to chatting with you on the forums.
