It would not naturally auto-populate, so would need to be filled out by the owner/pp when starting the Welcome guide.
I have passed on all the members feedback on to the tech team to look into. Thanks for the input.
I’m not sure, but as a PP, I don’t see any signs in my Welcome Guide, that the address would be mandatory. There’s just a box to write the address. As far as I can see, I could just write the postal code or city or country or just leave it empty
HI @BunnyCat owner’s addresses are mandatory on sign up when/before the listing goes live, as yet they are not mandatory for inclusion in the Welcome Guide, but will become so.
This update from March 22 is not correct then … owners address is not shared once the sit is confirmed…
Suggestion: I am also a member of Home Exchange, and on this platform, when an exchange is “finalized” (similar to a Sit being accepted), the contact information is revealed in the system (address, email address, and phone number). It is a beautiful system as everyone knows where this is located so it can be found quickly. I always create a contact in my phone, as soon as I have this information, and a contact in my email. There are so many moving parts when people travel. It’s nice to have this “done” early! Your engineers might take a look at the Home Exchange system.

Actually, that’s a very good point. For security, maybe not the address, but definitely the email and contact number.
Do Sitters need the Owner’s address? Yes.
Does it really matter HOW they get the address?
I don’t see any security issues. If the Owner has invited the Sitter to their home, the Sitter needs the address.
The address is needed or the sitter won’t know where to go , or plan their trip ( arrival , days out , shopping etc ) … this is the problem that current sitters have found that the full address hasn’t been in the welcome pack and like original poster they have an upcoming sit and no idea where they are supposed to be going!
Two days! I’m waiting for an address for a confirmed sit I’m supposed to start in less than 24 hours! I’ll be in the general area, but it’s Asterdam and if they completely forget, I’m going to be spending A LOT on a hotel…Need help!
Hi @cherylfah and I am sorry to hear this. I’m assuming you have tried contacting them by WhatsApp/telephone call or various other means and no response and you haven’t received a Welcome Guide from them?
You will need to contact Membership Services urgently at support@trustedhousesitters.com and as @DGV mentioned, you will need to write URGENT in the title. Hopefully they will be able to get in touch for you and get this resolved as soon as possible.
Correct. They shared no contact information whatsoever, just the neighborhood they live in and the time they expect to leave for the airport. I have emailed THS support.

@cherylfah I’m curious- how long ago did you confirm this sit? Or was it super last minute? Did you have a phone call/video call before confirming? Seems really strange the hosts have hared only their neighbourhood and not the full address! Perhaps they are new members and think their full address gets shared automatically when confirming the sit (like with airbnb)
Also strange if they are not responding to calls. Sounds dodgy- like the OP here who was supposed to be heading to a sit California with no address.
Big tip for the future- ALWAYS get the phone number and address- asap- before, or when, confirming the sit! The sooner you connect with a host offsite the better. We always add our WhatsApp number directly in our application. It can speed everything up. E.g yesterday a great looking sit popped up here in Spain. We applied immediately & within minutes it was ‘reviewing apps’ The hosts sent us a direct WhatsApp msg within the hour, expressing interest, this morning we had a call & confirmed the sit and they immediately sent full address details etc. I wish all hosts were so responsive and efficient!!
Anyway please do let us know if you find out where to go and actually make it to the sit!

Yes it was last minute in that it was 5 days ago, sit begins tomorrow (not THAT last minute) and I shared my WhatsApp immediately. They are new and are probably making a lot of assumptions.
No response from THS support yet via email with URGENT label.

New Owners sometimes assume that THS provides their address. Same thing has happened to me. Please, please, please support all of us by improving this system!
