Homeowners Attitude About Sitters Reason for Being There

In England dogs are permitted on most buses and trains! It’s not that way in most countries but here you can have dogs nearly everywhere.

Dogs are permitted just about everywhere in England - buses, trains, most pubs, I’ve been to few spots here where dogs were forbidden. Much of Europe is this way as well.

Yay! So glad you both worked it out. I hope you have a wonderful time. Enjoy the opera!

@mikomeko, congrats on 30+ reviews.

Each time we come across a Pet Parent that has unreasonable expectations on one topic (e.g. pet care, arrival/departure time, property stuff, all sorts) then we find, over time, that there are similarly unreasonable expectations on other topics. Based on that experience, we suspect that you will find incremental challenges with the noted Pet Parent.

This wholly reasonable. We recently posted about different mindsets of Pet Parents (url) …

No right answer here. Seems Pet Parent has given you free choice - continue or withdraw. Perhaps they believe that they’d find someone that wants a ‘job’ to sit their house all day. Perhaps you really want to visit that location? Regardless, seems that Pet Parent has clearly indicated that housesitter staying mostly at property is important to them. At least you know that with three weeks to go.

Hi @mikomeko

So pleased to read this update.

It’s amazing how often a quick wobble turns out to be just that — a wobble — once both sides feel heard. Clear communication really does change the tone of everything.

Sounds like you’ve both reset beautifully… and an opera ticket is a pretty lovely way to start a three-week sit. Wishing you and the wee pup a wonderful stay.

Oh, babe, this has been fully resolved, great solutions had been offered a couple of days ago and the HO and I have it all sorted and everything is just grand now. You can look at the original posting and see the “Solved by @WeRPAWsome “ there, that means that I have found a solution as a result of that person’s comment and recommendation. I am the one that said “my job” those weren’t her words, those were my words that’s why they were in quotation marks, so nothing to worry, I’ve done hundreds of sits over the years and am no newbie, but thank you for taking the time to respond here!

WOW, you sure have conjured up some story there! Lol. It’s all good, I’ve had a couple of people provide great, rational recommendations and after following those the HO and I are back on track, it was merely a communication blunder.

You really do lend some pretty great advice, I hope if I’ve any further queries here you’ll be sure to step in with some words! Thanks very much again! :orange_heart:

I see you got it sorted

I dont know if you noticed, I wrote “might” and other words in order to suggest that here is a potential way things can go - instead of having spied you and the host for years and wrote comprehensive personality profiles. If you disvalue my input, and can not see it as a change to be aware of broader possible outcomes (I never disagreed with the other suggestions, it is a tapestry of options you are free to choose and try out), please let me know, so that I dont mistakenly offer you my points of view in the future.

Ha! I just went to my profile to see, and it’s not quite gently integrated. At this stage I’m more concerned with weeding out anyone I might not be a good fit with. It appears I have started my profile off quite aggressively. But that came after years of sitting and great reviews. Here’s what I stated..

**I don’t sit for anyone with inside video or audio cameras. I live in…so I don’t do local unpaid sits here.

Ah, that puts a rather different slant on things. Your original post implied the HO had used these terms, now it’s clear this was your own interpretation of events.

Glad to hear that the HO has put your mind at rest, now.
