Hi @Sherel I have done this for you now, so do have a look.
I think the problem lay in the link you used . You need to scroll down the the green block on your dashboard and preview that link for copy and paste.

@Jillbow I am so sorry you have lost your sitter, but let’s do all we can to get you set with another one!

First, go ahead and link your member profile to your forum profile here at How to add a listing or profile link to your FORUM profile - Owner & Sitter Exchange - TrustedHousesitters Community Forum. This will give potential sitters an easier way to reach out to you or even give you some helpful advice on what to add or delete from the listing.

I see you have two bedrooms available. Would you consider a family for this sit? Making the car available is also very helpful for anyone who might be traveling via another form of transit.

I wish you luck on getting your sit filled. You do have a few weeks and since you already have one application, you may find that is all you need!

The forum and your THS membership are separate and those outside TrustedHousesitters can also access the forum page. Dates are posted on your membership page where potential sitters are actively searching and apply from there as well.

A suggestion I have would be to link your member profile to your forum profile so members an easily pull up your profile. To do so, click here How to add a listing or profile link to your FORUM profile - Owner & Sitter Exchange - TrustedHousesitters Community Forum

Quick question, how do I edit my forum profile which has an exisiting link ( not my main profile ( it’s from my website) can I do this with s mobile device or only my laptop? Thanks in advance.

You should be able to edit your forum profile from any device that you can read the forums. Note the forums are really the software Discourse, which should be very stable and have feature parity across all platforms. And the forums are all done in the browser anyway, so as long as your phone has a real browser, it should be fine. I believe nowadays all smartphones are like this.

For example, I can edit my forum profile on my tiny iPhone (SE gen 2) via the built-in Safari browser. I recall you’re on Android? Shouldn’t really matter in this case.

Hello @alzeeh and welcome to the forum and to TrustedHousesitters. Here you will find most any question or concern can be answered by many of our experienced long time members.

In regards to your question about ratings, you are able to leave anywhere from a 1 to a 5 star rating overall, then then same ability to rate individual information about the way they cared for your pet, their organization, etc.

I see you have not linked your member profile to your forum profile yet. Doing so will give your listing extra exposure to our members. To add, just click How to add a listing or profile link to your FORUM profile - Owner & Sitter Exchange - TrustedHousesitters Community Forum and follow the easy instructions.

I understand the people probably CAN leave a range of stars, but for some reason they don’t seem to be? It can’t be possible that ALL the sitters who are getting reviewed on your site get nothing but five stars reviews, based on my search. In random search of sitters all over the world, found one review with 4 stars.

The instructions at the start of this thread are very helpful. However, when I tried to add a link to my forum profile, I still got a little confused. To help future members, here are more-detailed steps and screenshots.

:information_source: This post is for PPs (Pet Parents) adding their listing to their forum profile. For sitters adding their sitter profile, I’ll make another post.

PPs (Pet Parents)

The instructions vary depending on your platform. To jump to a specific section, click below:

Desktop web browser (Mac) (PC should be similar)

First, let’s get the link to our listing:

  1. Go to the TH website:

  2. Go to your Dashboard (click on your photo/name → “Dashboard”):

    1. :warning: Do not go to “Your Listing.” It will give you the wrong link:

  3. On your Dashboard, find your listing and copy its link. (In the section “Your listing,” mouse/hover over your listing. Then right-click → “Copy Link”):

    1. :information_source: This is the correct link. If you were to check it, it would look like this:
    2. :warning: Don’t click “Edit listing” nor “Listing preview.” Those will give you the wrong link.

Now that we have the correct link, let's add that to our forum profile:

  1. Go to the TH forums:

  2. Go to your Preferences (click on your photo/icon → person icon → “Preferences”):

  3. Go to your Profile Preferences (click “Profile”):

  4. Scroll down to “Web Site.” Paste the link you copied earlier:

  5. Save changes (scroll to the bottom → “Save Changes”)


Let's check if our link works:

  1. Go to the list of forum members (we were at the bottom of our Profile Preferences, so scroll to the top → near the top, see the black bar → “Members”):

  2. View your forum user card (click on your name):

  3. Check that your link looks correct:

    1. As seen in the screenshot, a listing should have this part:

      • /house-and-pet-sitting-assignments/

    2. To see if your link works, click it.
    3. If the link looks okay but you can’t click it, you may still need to earn the badge “Basic.” That’s given after 10 minutes of browsing the forums.

First, let’s get the link to our listing. We could use the TH app. However, that’s actually harder because:

  • We’d have to find our listing by searching for it, like any other sit.
  • The link would have extra text that we’d need to trim.

So, let’s get our listing link using our phone’s web browser:

  1. Go to the TH website:

  2. Go to your Dashboard (in the upper-right, tap the “hamburger” menu → “Dashboard”):

    1. :warning: Do not go to “Your Listing.” It will give you the wrong link:

  3. On your Dashboard, find your listing and copy its link. (In the section “Your listing,” long-press your listing title. Then slide the resulting menu up. Then tap “Copy Link”):

    1. :information_source: This is the correct link. If you were to check it, it would look like this:
    2. :warning: Don’t click “Edit listing” nor “Listing preview.” Those will give you the wrong link.

Now that we have the correct link, let's add that to our forum profile:

  1. Go to the TH forums:
